well i play a inquisitorial witch hunters and adeptus sorritas army and i wanted to know what would be effective against necrons.

is it better to charge at them or stand back. we play at about 1000 points.

I have played lots of Necrons with my sisters army.. and usually I win.

First of all with the Sisters.. I always move up to short range and fire like hell at the opponent. Sisters are not good at distant, and are not good in close combat... so why bother.

I try to bring lot's of weapons that are really effective against Necrons ie. power weapons and high strength weapons. That means Eviscerators and blessed weapons.. normal power weapons don't cut it with the sisters low strength. And of course melta weapons and the Exorcist. AP 1, power weapons and weapons with double the strength of the targets T will negate we will be back.

Also remember to use Divine guidance as the 6s will now negate the we will be back roll. Yeah!

Always ask at the start of the game how many Necrons you need to kill th ohase him out. This is the best way to win against necrons. The remember to keep track of what enemies that are Necrons as only they will count against the phase out. Ignore the others. Hope he will bring a Monolith or C'tan as they are not necrons and really expensive. With them in the army its much easier to phase him out.

Learn the Necron rule. For example the Orb wargear will make the necrons always get the we will be back roll. But only lords can cary them and they only work close by.
Also a model wont get a we will be back roll if there are not another model of the same type (or tombspider) close by. So always concentrate all fire at one squad at the time. Try to isolate his squads and take them out one at the time.

they are a difficult army to beat! especially since i dont know what exactly they have!

When it come armour against 'crons you must be very very careful. I would advise against Exorsists as they are too easy to take down when an entire armys basic weaponry has a chance of taking it down!

Yes but you need to use your range, he ca usally not shoot as far as you. The key is placing your Exorcist correctly.

With Necrons it is more important then with other races to know your enemy and there special rules. They are the key to winning.
