HQ

Palantine

For my HQ I wanted to have a cheap, low costing heroine to protect(or slow down my opponent)my lines when they inevitably get charged. I Kinda like the palantine, she did well in the games that I tested her in. The conclusion that I came to was, The heroine(s) were great! The only thing that they were lacking was strength. And badly. I didn't want them to strike last, (as I wanted to squeeze every last point out of the poor girl!) so I equipped her with a blessed Weapon.

The guardsmen do well in conjunction with the firepower that the chimera's put out. I didn't give my guardsmen any weapons because of their poor BS. The chimera makes up for that I think.

My JO does good when equipped with the plasma and powersword. He has never died in battle. He has taken wound(s) because of the plasma but, only about one wound per game.

The lascannons are for antitank. They will stay close to the JO for his supirior leadership. Again, I thought it a waste of points
to give the guardsmen anything special because of their low BS.

I know, the superior has plasma... Its what came with the box, and she does okay with it. She has died once because of it, but she has taken out more points of my opponents than she was worth (SM!)

I didn't give the sisters anything in the special weapons category. They do much better with bolters IMO. The meltagun would be the only weapon worth taking; but, they rarely see many tanks...

I love plasma! It is for knocking out transports, weak armour, or Armoured foes! I don't think I can go wrong with plasma.

My enemies fear this, and rightfully so. It has taken out whole eight man SM assault squads! Not to mention the damage to
closly packed Nids!

Its under points. Dunno what I should add. Suggestions would be nice! I will be submitting my 500pt and 400pt compat patrol soon, so I could incorporate some things into that.

I'm kinda stumped right now. It seems like a good list, but I am debating what I should add to it. I could put another guard squad in, or wargear, or more sisters....

Hey man,

Let's take a look

HQ1 - Not bad; simple and effective. I would however, highly recommend the Cannoness simply for the extra point of Faith for very little. She would be more effective if she were faster, so if you're looking to spend some points, the shift to Cannoness and a Jump Pack works wonders on the field. Heroines are brutal.

Troop1 - Just because they're not the best shooters, doesn't mean they don't shoot. Use flamers or grenade launchers perhaps. Cheap and effective. The Chimera does indeed have good firepower, but it's not invincible. The squad inside is what counts for scoring. Also, you may do well to buy extra armor for the Chimera.

Troop2 - You do realise Junior Officer's have one wound right? If he burns, he's probably dead. That's a bad thing, losing your leadership and officer all in one shot. I would drop the plasma. He's no better shooting it than another guardsmen--so why risk the loss of your leadership? Move the plasma to a plasmagun in the command squad on one of the other 4 guardsmen. The infantry squads are ok, though I'd probably go for missiles to save points or autocannons over lascannons. Too many points for hit or miss.

Troop3 - The plasma is definitely something you want to move away. I'd chop it off and replace with a pistol or bolter or something. Also a book of St. Lucius goes a long, long way to keeping everything around her around longer.

Troop4 - Solid! The only thing I'd add is Faith to make them perfect

Troop5 - Solid storm trooper support.

Heavy1 - Solid Russ.

--- Overall, I'd look into mobility a bit more. You have a lot of static sitting and shooting, as well as limited range units. Moral is going to be low in the army and books of lucius can fix that. Your Russ and Chimera are a good combo for support, but don't let it be your crutch.

Done; I like my Leman and Chimera, but I don't rely on them. I use them as a distraction.

Stuck a Rhino in there, and put 2 meltaguns in the Mech squad.

And, I gave the Armoured Fist Squad a meltagun, IMO I think that it would do more damage than a 'nad launcher or a flamer.

Heya,

Looks good enough to me. The only thing left to think about, is that HQ character and how slow she'll be to find combat quickly where she can put that Blessed Weapon to use. But otherwise fine
