Default So the inquistion has called for me.....

Yep. I was board one day and I was wandering around reading random things on this board and sure enough I stumbled upon the deamon hunters. I read the important topics.. I saw what people thought about them And other stuff like that. I loved them! I was a bit iffy after all alot of people say they are a hard army to play, so I went onto the Gw website and looked at all the stuff they had on the deamon hunters. I still loved them. Finally I decided to blow 20 dollars on a deamon hunters codex. (The way I saw it better to waste only 20 dollars and see what they have to offer than waste 100 dollars and have models that may never see the light of day.) I read the codex alot! I read most of the fluff and I absolutely loved it! I them read a few more things and I realized.. I don't care of the odds are against me, or if my opponent outnumbers me two to one, I actually love "epic" battles like that. And if I lose I really learn from my mistakes, and don't whine. I actually joke about how I lost, ("He was drunk had a bit too many.") I haven't bought any models yet but looking into buying and inquistioner and two squads of the storm troopers. Probably an assassin, get a feel for them. But I guess I posted this to say, given the circumstances right now( seeing how I haven't found anything about the deamon hunters I don't like), I am apart of the inquisition. ... plus I love telling my eldar friend, "Burn the eldar witch!" And my blood angels friend "Heretic your bloody marines must die!" Little jokes like that. (I actually respect the two armies. )

Oniyoh,

Welcome aboard, brother.

The Daemonhunters are definitely a "love them to play them" army. You won't find treadheads, power-gamers and the likes that plague the bad tourneys fielding Daemonhunters. You'll find people who like stories, like themes, like beautiful models, like attitude and like to not have the top selling army on their table tops. Daemonhunters are hobbyist and wargamers delight. I trust you'll enjoy them, even if you don't crush your opponents. Close battles are sweeter than large victories anyways; and what's the point if you don't have to work for it, right?

So far, you're off on the very right track: you're getting a core. And a stable one at that. Inquisitors are expensive, but useful. Storm Troopers are undeniably useful, the more you get, the better in the end. Do not be afraid to just lavish your army with them; they are your all around Troop, unless you decide to induct, in which case they're still the core but have some help. If you want a head start into Storm Troopers, consider buying Cadians and converting them into storm troopers. You can get twice the models, totally legal and unique to your army, for half the price you'd pay for metal storm trooper models (plastics are ace as well because you can glue weights under their bases to make them stable on terrain maps). Just a heads up if you're interested or want to watch your budget at all (and let's face it, who isn't in this hobby?).

After that, the rest is up to you; but storm troopers is a great way to begin. The next should support them and vise verse.

Feel free to post more ideas, questions, etc. We're all to happy to share

Cheers!

If you go for assassins I recommend the vindicare, it kills at med-range and the hell-fire round can massacre all sorts of squad leaders.

If you really like the background behind the daemon hunters I suggest you look at some of the stories and background found here
http://www.specialist-games.com/inqu...nqLRBpart1.pdf
http://www.specialist-games.com/inqu...nqLRBpart2.pdf

It gives you a nice overview of the Inquisition and some idea of what exactly Inquisitors do when not participating in pitched battles.

And if the game itself strikes your fancy Inquisitor is playble with appropriate 28mm models (like those found in the daemonhunters range...)

I strongly disagree with this. While the vindicare assassin is incredibly cool he struggles to make back his points value. Also on average in a 6 turn game where he shoots EVERY turn he'll kill 2.5 models.

I'd suggest either going for the eversor who's nice and cheap and can really lay waste to whole enemy squads or my favorite the callidus. She's fantastic, disrupting the enemy army before the game even starts and when she shows up she can be a real headache to deal with.

Thanks brother, you have given me some good advice. Thank you Mal, that Cadian conversion, great idea. I am not exactly the richest person in the world, and any bit of a money save will be beneficial. As for the assassin I am not sure yet, probaby will go with the Eversor at first. He seems well easier to kinda use. And I'll be most defiantly asking for advice as my new daemon hunters form.
