Vehicle Competition [RULES]
« on: January 30, 2010, 01:43:29 AM »
From blood-drenched, demon-possessed, multi-limbed mechanical monstrosities to ramshackle transports that look like they'd be more at home on a scrap heap, vehicles are a formidable tool for any army.[1]

With the new wave of Tyranids appearing, we want to make sure that you don't park up your tank in the garage and wander off looking for big scary bugs, because, lets face it, you'll probably get eaten or dissolved or something.

So, now's your chance to dust off your hubcaps, polish your tail lights and grease up your gears, 'cause it's time for -that's right - a Vehicle Competition.

Let me hear those engines roar!

[1] - Unless you're a Tyranid.

Dates:
  • Entries can be submitted via a PM to Hive Lord from February 1st till March 22nd.
  • Voting will take place between March 23rd and March 30th.
  • Winners will be announced on the 31st of March.

Prizes:

1st Place - 10pts
2nd Place - 5pts
3rd Place - 2pts

(The top 3 all receive official TO winners seals as well).

Rules:
  • Entries consist of a single vehicle from any 40k race
  • A vehicle is anything with an armour value. This includes walkers.
  • Super-heavy vehicles are allowed
  • Forgeworld vehicles are allowed
  • Vehicle must have official GW or FW rules - No VDR or house rules
  • The model may be scratch-built as long as it is appropriately representative of its respective vehicle
  • The model may be converted and must be fully painted
  • The model may not have been entered into any previous competitions
  • Photos of your entry may not exceed 800x600 pixels.
  • Up to three photos of your entry may be submitted

We altered the age old art of calling shotgun to now be known as calling Plasma Rifle on my car :P
Scratch-built Tau Manta .    Scratch-built Tau Orca Drop Ship.   Scratch-built Tau Barricuda.   Scratch-built Tau Bastion.
Scratch-built Thunderhawk Dropship.   Scratch-built 1:72nd scale Space Marine Landing Craft.
Scratch-built Chaos super-heavy dreadclaw drop pod/army transport.

I think we'll limit it to only vehicles with official GW (or FW) rules. No VDR or house rules.

Scratch-built models in general are fine, as long as they adequately represent the model they are supposed to.

I've updated the rules accordingly to clarify both of these points.

Well, that´s it... just conventional models, not even conversions, right?

Conversions are allowed, as per the rules. If you're scratchbuilding it doesn't need to be a perfect replica of the stock GW model, but it needs to be reasonable (no 'my SM chapter uses Land Raiders the size of seven Baneblades taped together').

I've got something in mind, it's almost done, so I'll be able to enter this contest. :)
