Eldar jetbike
« on: April 15, 2009, 04:39:00 PM »
Hi

I recently finished this eldar jetbike for a little local online painting comp.  I admit that the idea is blatantly stolen from an eldar titan I saw on CMON, which is one of the coolest paint jobs I've ever seen.  This is not as good as the titan, but I'm very pleased with it nonetheless.

Hope you like it, c&c welcome!

Alabaster, that's some incredibly impressive painting.
The choice of colors is perfect, and the the freehand is... Well.. Fantastic.

You should be very proud of this one! :)

Fantastic. Unearthly. It's a shame it has that ugly Eldar model on top. :)

That's pretty awesome, great free hand work!  :)

My only complaint would be the shading on the red in the back of the model, but great work none the less!

wow, thanks for all the positive comments ;D  This is probably my best work to date and I'm glad it's not just me that think's its cool ;)

Mate that thing is sweet, did you use an airbrush?
Nope, never used an airbrush.  Often thought about it though, people seem to get some awesome effects using those.

Fantastic. Unearthly. It's a shame it has that ugly Eldar model on top. :)
Hehehehehe, yeah, these old school eldars are pretty scrawny.  This is actually a model I bought some 15 years ago and then forgot about.  If you ask me the models are too slow, the new jetbikes(whenever they may come) are much cooler and faster!

My only complaint would be the shading on the red in the back of the model, but great work none the less!
Yeah, it does come out that way, doesn't it?  Funny thing is that it's much smoother in real, but I had noticed this flaw when looking at the photos.  Just hoped noone else would notice  ::)

If this is an elite choice it needs to be in this months competition. It HAS to be ;)
What comp is that?  I wouldn't mind entering it in a comp in here.

Hehe, yeah, ok, I consider it my best work so far so I'm very pleased with it.  And I have posted some other stuff here if you're interested, but they're mostly flying nids.  And it won the comp ;D

Thanks everyone for your comments, truly humbling.  Responses like that to my stuff are truly motivating and makes me want to do better and better.  Thanks.

I checked out the rules for the comp and this model doesn't qualify :(  It's not an elite choice and it's been in another comp.  I might participate in these comps though, they sound fun, and comps like these are in my opinion the best way to compare your models with the best, which can only encourage you to improve your work :)

Oh, and thanks for the Karma ;D
