Apparently, it's:

5th edition.
SM.
Space Wolves.
Rumor has it, it'll be IG next and then, maybe, DE. Some are saying Necrons before DE. Like they haven't waited long enough.

holy klkn I love these. hmm I may lose my WS4 guardsmen but... PLASTIC VALKYRIE! Now if they have a Vulture to go with it then I'll never question GW again... ever....

Well, this certainly looks like good news. For a start, the snipers sound good, that is if snipers are tweaked in 5th ed to not be totally useless, as I hope they will be.

well if the new rules are right sniper weapons will now hit on BS but get a rule similar to rending(roll of 6 to hit makes the shot AP2) and pinning and they still wound on 4+. It actually works more like a sniper rifle :P

This all good and all but it wouldn't really make a difference if they didn't change the point cost. Basically, you're playing with what you already have albeit you take up less FoC :P

I will be much happier if they also lower the point cost.

WS4 I could live with, but I just hope they don't make my Primal Guard army completely illegal (i.e. removing the options for Warrior Weapons armed Guardsmen).

Oh... if those rumours come true, I will not miss the doctrines that much!
And my PDF outfit, fluffwise also based around my own Homeguard company seems really doable!

Take no heavy weapon and get scout? Yes please! ;D
Upgrade a squad to veterans? Yes please!  ;D

Snipers getting better.... I cannot wait!

Well, I shall start assembling a 35 man platoon to start with. A platoon command squad, and three ordinary squads. The cadians are just perfect as Swedish Homeguard in space.

One squad get scouts, one squad gets veterans..
If I aim for two platoons, it will work out nicely, I think. Then some Glory boys for support, representing our "Rapid reaction" units, that always get the new stuff first and always get all the creed officially, despite us handing over their asses to them on more than one occasion.
They will always be used in a "Gung ho!" fashion, to do or die trying. Not very tactical, but a true gamer always make some moves in the name of fluff and character!

And the Russes... arrrh... Well, we sure ain´t having any integrated armour or artillery, but since those are supposed to be assigned, it would not be unfluffy to have some.

When I am finished, you members on tauonline can sleep thight knowing the PDF is always on guard!

Hmmm....

Might need some more Russes....

Only have 3 normal, and a Forgeworld plasma cannon turret one...

Hmm, from the looks of things camelioline has been dropped as well as having snipers in your squads, but frankly the other changes will more than make up for that! Whole squads of BS4 snipers? Hell yeah!

Not sure about the leman squads though, that's just asking to be abused, multiple exterminators wouldn't be too bad, but the allowance for more ordnance in the IG, is it really neccessary?

Yay for the storm troopers and valkyrie, the storm troopers have been in need of a plastic kit for a long while, I just hope they look like the 3rd ed. storm troopers rather than the kasrkin. And of course what better way to get them into position than with a shiny new plastic valkyrie!

All in all some great changes! :D

Yes indeed. I hope we see the rumoured greatcoat plastic guards coming out too.
I will make my PDF force for sure, but I would like to make a second regiment that is sort re-inforcing my PDF dudes, based on WWII russians.

Is this plastic DKoK and Valhallans (greatcoats) rumour still going?

It still just a rumour so yes, the rumour is still going, I REALLY  CANT WAIT FOR THIS TO COME OUT!!!
I am brainstorming all the diffrent Ideas I wanted in the past and now they are all very plausible, I think I want a recon regiment or a half mech half drop list, that would be cool, the enemy would be stuck inbetween a rock and a hard place before he realized what hit him.

I'm taking a wait and see approach with the greatcoat Guard. IT wouldn't surprise me if GW went through with it, but the armies like Steel Legion and Valhallans (possibly DkoK, but I have a feeling GW wouldn't step there) feel too different to me to be stuck into one plastic kit. Regardless, it could be pretty cool if they pull it off.

Ironically an IG army based on WWII Russians is the army I have planned next  ;D I've been doing some research for them recently and I have a few ideas as to how I will integrate the look with a bit of 40k gothicness. The Valhallan models were perfect but there just isn't enough varience in the metal model range. Now just for a bit of cash!

I doubt they will do Death Korps for a few reasons:
- They are too similar to the Steel Legion to have their own models done, it wouldn't take too much of a stretch to use Steel Legion to do them.

- They aren't as integral to 40k history as Steel Legion.

- Forge world already do DKoK

Overall I'd say that the Valhallans and Steel Legion are the most likely, the Steel Legion especially when you consider the rumours of another Armageddon campaign.
