hi, well i used 2 collect a imperial guard armoured company, but iv decided to do the complete opposite, an army of nearly/if not all infantry
im not sure whether to have a small ogryn squad or the conscript platoons, could i have some help here, also, on the conscript side of things, with b2, wouldn't flamers be quite useful here, seeing as though they automatically hit? or i could have neither and use some doctrines can i have some help this is it : HQ Command Squad – Heroic Senior Officer with Power weapon, Carapace armour, frag grenades, refractor field, 4 veterans, frag grenades, carapace armour. 144 Elites Ogryn Squad, 4 ogryns, 1 bone 'ead (or conscript platoon) (135) Troops Infantry platoon 1 Command Squad, Junior Officer, power weapon, 4 Veterans 312 Squad 1, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Squad 2, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Squad 3, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Infantry platoon 2 Command squad, Junior officer, power weapon, 4 Veteran 312 Squad 1, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Squad 2, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Squad 3, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Infantry platoon 3 Command squad, Junior officer, power weapon, 4 Veteran 312 Squad 1, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Squad 2, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Squad 3, veteran sergeant, Autocannon Conscript Infantry Platoon (or the ogryns) (120) Squad 1 Squad 2 Squad 3 Fast Attack Heavy Support Heavy Weapons platoon Anti tank squad, missile launchers 80 Anti tank squad, lascannons 110 Fire support squad, heavy bolters 95 total = 1500 with ogryns, 1485 with conscripts - some flamers? its got quite a lot of anti tank, - 3 lascannons, 3 missile launchers, a lot of anti light tanks - 6 auto cannons, also a lot of anti infantry, - a lot of infantry, even terminators can't withstand up to 150 lasgun shots, not much cc units, but the odd unit, such as the ogryns and the small command squads, although they won't be that great in combat seeing as though they have a few attacks, allowing armour saves. |

Well it seems to be a good list to me. I like the autocannons. 18 shots that can instant kill most units are simply more than most armies can deal with.
In the heavy support, you might want to add on a mortar platoon with three mortars. 9 small blast templates heading towards them will not make opponents happy. Remember though that they will be a point sink facing anything with reasonably good armour. Thats just my advice. Oh and Kenton Kilgore has some ideas. * http://www.thewarp.net/war/tigersofveda/themeig.htm |

keep the conscripts, and trade the autocannons in one platoon with grenade launchers. you wont be only facing tanks, and the GL will be able to put a hurting on any swarm army

I disagree. This list has over 120 lasguns for dealing with swarms. keep the autocannons, they splatter medium sized models (generally have better toughness, but crappy armor) in horde armies. Definitely get flamers for the conscripts (yes, keep them, not the ogryns). cut some points out of the ridiculously overpriced and ineffective HQ and get as many conscripts as you possibly can. 30 conscripts is okay, but 50 of them are unstoppable.

with all of the JOs do you really need to have a heroic senior officer with all those upgrades?
Also correct me if I am wrong but this seems to be a sit down and shoot army. Why give him frag grenades? Save the points. PS I wish I could by that many autocannons.

the auto canns are a great choice, but grenade launchers can be used to stop just about anything.they are a nasty wearpn. i suggest you have one mobile platoon to help support the conscripts

[/quote] so do i! ...lol... good point about the HQ, also, should i get rid of the veterans in the infantry platoon squads? because that would save me soo many points, which i could then spend on more conscripts or normal guard |

You need a JO in that Heavy Weapon Platoon. Amazing how nobody ever reads that part of the Codex... :
