Hey everyone,

what do you think of this combat patrol guard force. the idea behind it is for this to be one half of a force and another army is allied to it with another 400pts (much like GWs doubles tournaments)

Junior officer with power weapon and bolt pistol
4 Guardsmen all with flamers and close order drill 70pts
Chimera with multilaser, heavy bolter, heavy stubber, extra armour and smoke 105pts

Armoured fist squad
Sergeant with lasgun
9 Guardsmen with meltagun and close order drill 70pts
Chimera with multilaser, heavy bolter, heavy stubber, extra armour and smoke 105pts

Sentinal with autocannon 50pts.

Total 400pts

My partner will either have Tau or Space marines. Ive concentrated on manoverability and anti-personal firepower, where as he will have more anti-tank weaponry.

The flamers might get slaughtered before they get close, so I would move the Chimera to the command squad or something like that. Nice list.

Thanks! Both squads have chimeras. i have learned to fear the anti-personal weaponry of the chimera (esp in the new rules).
Im courious, what combat patrol tau force would complement my guard force well?

I would think transports and fire warriors... Maybe some scouts....

I doubt there would be a crisis suit on a patrol if your going for what I would imagine a Tau patrol would be.

Scout rail rifles
Fire Warriors
Transports

Something like that I would imagine fit the bill quite nicly...

2 devilfishes each with max pathfinders with railrifles, i would think it would be intresting.

i recently played a 40k in 40 minutes tournament in sweden and i used this army..it worked pretty well..only about 15 players but i came out third..this was my first tournament ever and if i had played with some tactics i could have won pretty easily..
But after the tournament some guy told me that you cant use ordnance weapons in the new rules so i guess the army is illegal.

Command squad: Heavy bolter 50p
Squad1: Heavy Bolter 70p
Squad2: Heavy Bolter 70p
2 sentinels: Armageddon pattern: 110p
Basilisk: 100p

My tactic is just to load up two Armoured Fist squads and shoot the feth out of people. In 40K40mins, the Chimera is king...

for 400pts in tau i take

2x fireknife crisis
3xstealths
a bonded and shas'uid 10 man FW team with fish

now with an armored fist squad for 40k in 40 mins... do u still need to take a platoon as a troops choice in order to get it?
