I prefer the Storm Troopers to Hardened Vets. I played Marine and I wouldnt want to go near these guys especially if they are in cover, which is what Infiltrate is for. But a 4+ save means they will be sticking arond a bit longer. Hmm.

Now I have more Points to play with I can add Tanks.

What do you think? Infiltarting Storm Troopers Get into a nice position at the start of the game. HQ provides Leadership. Platoon HQ's drop in. Flamer/shotgun for support and Melta/Bolt Pistol for Tanks. Infantry Squads I'm not sure how to use but will probbaly be used as 1 Platoon for Dropping in and one holding the line in 1000 points vs Meq and just staying put vs a Horde. But I'm not too sure on tactics yet. LRBT's will obviously sit there and shoot as much as possible. They have 3 Heavy Bolters once the Battle Cannon goes which is what I would prefer. The Demolisher will advance slowly with Plasma Cannons untill it gets to Demolisher range. We know what happens then.. I miss a lot Ok thats not the plan really hehe.

What do you think? List seems typical apart from the Strom Troops, but I like having things that aren't the 'best', plus the fact I want Kasarkin models. Any Guard Vets that could help me out?

im only going to comment on the 1500 pt list because ive no experiance of combat patrols

well, most of the list is good, but i think you should either give all your infantry squads veteran sergeants, ot give your command squad a master vox, and all other squads voxes this will improve the leadership of al lyour squads and i would also swap the 2 flamers in the special weapons squad for metlaguns

The Special Weapons Squad is as cheap as possible, to drop in and cause the maximum amount of damage. Why would you use Meltas, I'm curious?

A Vox Network for the entire army will be very expensive and the army will hopefully work through its strength of numbers. Where would I get the points from?

I think the Demolisher might become a bit of a target even with the other 2 Tanks because it will be played far forward. Maybe I should put a Hellhound or 2 in?

personally i think that multiple meltaguns in a squad are the best anti tank IG can offer, short oof a lascannon army

it's totally up to you if you make a vox network as i do, but i find that LD is very important with IG

and yes i agree that hellhounds would go niceley instead of a demolisher

Yeh I was thinking that but the Demolisher = My AP2.

I shall see. Any other peoples comments on the list? advice?

I'd go with flamers over meltas in the combat patrol as you aren't going to be seeing anything heavier then a chimera or razorback.

The 1000 point list has pretty much zero mobile firepower, which will hurt you. Deep strike is unreliable in getting you to the right place, and sometimes you won't be able to use it.

The 1500 point list has the same problem as the 1000 point list.

Meltas are useful against Marines too, but I guess that 4 Flamers would do a better job.

What can I do to remedy my 'zero mobile firepwoer' ?

your combat patrol looks good, but heavy weapons in your platoons will slow everything down.

1000 pt list looks fun, but i would advise you to use the vets. they will give you more for your money. agan i advise you to take out the heavy weapons out of the platoons, and put them in their own squads to increase the mobility of your army. maybe save some more points and get some grenade launchers instead of your plasma guns.

the tanks are good, dont change them at all
