Default Catachan Waiting death. Unique army 1500pts

Catachan XXIV "waiting death". Practice army 1500pts. Tornament list (have permission to use)

Going with 'waiting death' fluff i have included 1 extra trap/heavy choice at the loss of 1 troop choice.
Missile launchers replace the mortar as the support wepon and only 1 squad may be taken. Leaving 3 choices for traps

Also 'Trap Teams' known as 'Death Squads'. Using the profile of the patrol squad. These squads allow 1 extra trap to be selected into the heavy support choice.
The new trap is only a basic trap. 4 of these squads may be included in the amry.
1 squad= 1 extra trap (4 per choice)
2 squads= 2 extra traps (5 per choice)
3 squads= 3 extra traps (6 per choice)*
These count as troops and are not feilded in platoon format but 1 squad takes up 1 troop choice.
The team sergeant may be replaced by a lieutenant to increase presence of authority due to the unusual army organisation. The Lt. may be purchased in tead of the sergeant for +12pts

The force also has domesticated and trained Wolves which are used to great extent on particular missions as bait, attack animals or hunting dogs for long 'hole ups' where the force is unable to leave their position to collect food and resources. But due to the wolves natural instincts, they may turn on their master and thus have special rule 'Raging instincts'
2 wolves and their master (master uses the profile of a devil veteran sergeant) take up a single Elites choice.

Independent~ The wolves are natural hunters and preferr to work alone but dont stray to far from their masters. The wolf can move upto 18" away form its master.

Raging instincts~ Any time the wolf is called upon to move further then 12" from its master it must take a Ld test. If failed the wolf goes into a frenzy and will move 6" towards the closest unit weather friend or foe, the wolf will continue to attack the closest unit until the unit is destryed or the master comes within 2" of the wolf.

wow. that is quite a list. i think an assualt squad would be helpful in the army.

Well i dont have the models for an assault squad. But i am playing this list tonight (hopefully i can find a table that is 18'square for all of my traps)

This will be hard to play with but im hoping to get a part jungle board going (booYEAH).

As for the army whats your take on each squad?

it looks balanced, but too small for my taste. i would rather suggust some patrol squads cause they are cheap and exelent baiter squads. play lots of mind games with him

EDIT:A second team know and feared as 'Baiter squads' deploy using the infiltrator rules and take advantage of the enemies close combat or short ranged units. these units will move into an area and put their lives on the line to bring the enemy into either an ambush or trap. When baiting a unit that sets off a trap. roll D6 and on a roll of 1 the baiter squad is hit by the same trap that the enemy model set off. this means you place seperate templates over both the enemy unit and the baiter squad. Baiter squads are not led by anyone in particular but work together on their own accord and consist of 3 men. these models use the profile of a patrol sergeant. Baiter squads only use lasguns and frag grenades, Although one veteran may replace his lasgun with a sniper rifle at +5 points. When in jungle terrain the baiter squads receive a 3+ cover save.

EDIT: i replaced one death squad with 2 baiter squads and lost 3 normal traps (now 5 per set). Added 3wargear to Captain and wolf master.

why wolves and not lizards? wolves would be eaten in a new york minute. lizards would be much more fluffy.

Well there are stories of wolves being used in the army and also in others. Plus i have wolf models i can use.

they are pretty cool, but i would have them as patrol squads for the ambush ability. still though, it looks nice.
