Default perils of the warp and psyker squad

When a psyker squad suffers perils of the warp and casualties are removed to "save" the effect does this means that the perils of the warp doesn't happen? Does the power still take effect but just with less psykers in the squad?

If you roll a double six the power takes no effect and you suffer perils of the warp but if you roll a double one you suffer perils but the power does have an effect. As double six=12 which is a fail on the psychic check whereas double one=2 which is a pass.

There's 2 cases of perils of the warp, snake eyes & box cars. If you roll a double 1 then the power goes off. On the case of double 6s the power does not go off. Not exactly sure what happens but as I see it the power is utilized when the unit was at X number of psykers so the power benefits from X rather than X - D3.
