Default Hydra flak tanks

I find these tanks to have extremely good stats for their point cost, and they look awesome. I know that they aren't good against high armored tanks, but they take down transports and skimmers like nothing. Of course, some people like lascannons, but the real purpose of these tanks is not to blow up transports, but to blow up skimmers! Including Eldar and Dark Eldar jet-bikes. My questions are,

a) does anyone else really use these things against orks and eldar, or is it just me?

b) where can I get the model besides forge world? Is gamesworkshop coming out with it soon? Can I get on gamesworkshop.com already?

I only know the answer to b)

Which is:

They are forgeworld only. It was guessed they may bring them out with spearhead, but they haven't.

Hope this helps.

These tanks are very good. AC's are the best heavy weapon in the game in my opinion. There are a lot of units in 40k that rely on turbo boosting to get free invuln saves. Not anymore. The IG have so many ways to negate any other army playstyle. You can't turbo boost against them, you can't DS on them, you never want to leave anything in reserves against them. It's wild.

I've seen a few folks use the Planetstrike set's Autocannon Sentry Gun as a Turret for their Chimeras in order to use them as Hydras. Its not exactly cheaper, but its easier to acquire.

I made a hydra using some spare PS pieces:
Basilisk Chassis-Don't glue the top on.
Next place a PS turret ring in the back, glue or pin, it doesn't obstruct anything.
Now place a PS autocannon sentry gun in the ring(don't glue or it can't be removed :-X)
Anyway, one easy hydra

A unit of 3 Hydras is not to be sneezed at.

12 TL Autocannon shots that deny fast moving units their cover saves, for those points, is practicly a give away. They can also reach the entire table thanks to their enhanced range.

And like i said, they cost almost nothing to field. You could still field 6 LRBTs, or 3 of then and 3 Basilisks, or a Manticore.

I guess if I was fighting Orks, or Eldar/Dark Eldar I would take them. But at higher point games I think I would still be leery.
