Default Baneblades suck!

i have just recently purchased a baneblade. lovingly built it and had it painted by the man they call Jayne and now i discover its sucks like a whore on the clock. has anybody else found this? or am i just being a lucktard when i use it? because it always dies first or second turn to pathetic things like fire warriors.

Bashing individual units is considered a form of flamebaiting. Be careful next time! -AC

I'm gonna go ahead and bet money you're using the rules in Apocolypse for it. Thats why they suck.

Get a hold of the proper FW rules, they are a lot better.

Take advantage of it's range. If you're close enough for fire warriors to take it out than you're to close. The amount of destruction this thing can generate will have a lot of incoming everything at it. It's a huge target that's not really expected to live.

The problem is it constistantly fails to hit and wound. Even with the co-axial Autocannon.

I follow up by getting conststantly lucky against it rarly rolling less than a 4 for damage and its always an AP1 weapon. My Sunforges rarely fail to get a chain reaction aswell. A single shot caused the complete destruction of the Baneblade 1st time out.

We do use the Apoc rules though. Imperial Aromur 1 would have the rules in it i assume?

The updated IA1 has the exact same rules as the official Apocalypse ones now, just an FYI.

Er how did you lose one to FWs? Were they Blackout Teams?

Anyways something to note about super heavies is that they're actually immune to AP1 only destroyer weapons can add to the damage chart according to the rules in both Apoc & the big rules book. The wording is specific on what chart it modifies which may or may not have been intentional (sadly you never quite know with GW.)

Besides that Baneblades are fire magnets strong enough to yank satelites from orbit, sometimes quite literally. They cost 2 Land Raiders & draw the same amount of attention unless something bigger is present, like a titan. I find it disturbing (from an Imperium POV, a Tau one is quite amusing, no offense) that lowly FWs killed it. Sounds like the dice gods demanded a sacrifice or something. I suggest supporting it with some units. If they draw fire then the blade is spared some and vice versa.

It lost its last structure point to 2 teams of 12 warriors with EMPs.

Is that what you mean by Blackout teams?


It says in the superheavy damage table the both AP1 and D add +1 to damage.
