Default Those Cadian Battleforces

Do the units in the set come with predesignated wargear, ala AoBR? Or do they just come in the normal sprues?

If it's the latter, I've just lost a bit of cash (through not buying the battleforce, not through a bet). And my heart.

To my knowledge, the battle forces come with all the usual sprues you would get in the packs them selves.

Second.

The AOBR was only so un-customisable so that a new player didnt have 20 things to glue onto a single model, than had to read all these different rules for these epic models he created.

You will get the sprues for every unit that comes in the box, as though you bought them seperately. If you are missing a spure, gw will give you a WHOLE FREE BATTLEFORCE to make up for it, so dont worry at all...its a win win situation

I wasn't aware of that, if not,I would've settled for an Ork Battleforce. But is there any other downside to this?

None that i can think of, the point of a Battleforce is to get you a good, well balanced force that can take on multiple roles. The old IG Battleforce was better than the current one though, so if you can find one on eBay, get that instead.

AoBR:
1 Warboss with Power Klaw and Twin-Linked Shoota
5 Nobs with Choppa and Slugga
18 Ork Boys with Choppa and Slugga
2 Ork Boys with Big Shoota
3 Deffkoptas with Twin-Linked Rokkit Launcha

Ork Battleforce:
3 Warbikers/Nob Bikers - 1 Power Klaw and/or 1 Big Choppa and/or 3 Choppas
1 Trukk - Big Shoota or Rokkit Launcha
20 Ork Boys - Slugga and Choppa or Shoota. Two of them can be made into a Nob with Power Klaw/Big Choppa. Another two can be made to carry Rokkit Launcha or Big Shoota

AoBR is comparatively cheap but lacks choices. Ork Battleforce has more choices but more comparatively expensive.

And if anyone is wondering, the old Cadian Battleforce comes with the same 20 Guardsmen and 3 Heavy Weapons but instead of a Sentinel and Command Squad, it came with a Leman Russ Battle Tank.

The tyranid battleforce in 4th ed came with a carnifex...the battleforce was $150 AU and would cost over $200 AU to buy seperately. Unfortunately the nid battleforce now is more expensive, and is worth less, saving you alot less, but saving you.

The only bad thing about the battleforce is you only get whats in there. While this seems obvious, if you want a completely mechanized guard army (eg with tanks instead of Heavy Weapon teams) then buying 4 battleforces just for the guardsmen is'nt going to help too much.

Who buys retail these days? pfft...

Battle force as said comes with everything in the box. It's purpose is to save you a few bucks on buying the items seperatly.
