Default To doctrine or not to doctrine.

I use five doctrines in just about every battle. I have
Carapace Armor
Close Order Drill
Iron Discipline
And the rest depend on the scenario. Often cameoline shows up in their. Who thinks this is idioted.

good choices but I personally do not like COD as most enemy units charging will be I5 (dark eldar, furious assault etc.) and usually wipe you out within 1 or 2 turns of combat/shooting. To compensate for the lower I3 I opt for sharpshooters as it really does help no end as 14 rapid fire las gun shots will now hit with 8 instead of 7 shots whic while not seeming much add to that concentrated fire from other squads and heavy weapons (which also get the re-roll) and you end up with an impressive amount of fire actually hitting the enemy.

anyway sorry for ranting but I love sharpshooters as I usually roll a lot of 1's on the first roll!

...stupid certainly.

If you fight a lot of I5, then COD is worthless.

Well you get the LD bonus but yeah it is pointless. If you only have four doctrines and have no extra points though you could use it. vs nids or eldar rather pointless.

Whenever I look at my openent stats for guns it is always Tau guns are almost all AP 5 except for tank busting weapons. Same withthe tirade of fire from tactical space marines. AP 5

That's what stormtroopers are for, and also why I refer to guardsmen as 'meatshields'
