Default A little fluff help please (and no, this isn't some evil plan to bash the Guard)

What are "Incision" warheads? The description (old fluff I've been perusing) seems to indicate that they are AT warheads since the other option listed (under the 'Lance' Seeking projectile description) was a "standard mass fragmentation" head.

So can anyone shed light on this for a xenos player like me?

What's the source you're using?

I was just reading the 3rd edition BRB.

It describes the Lance seeking projectiles and talks about the standard warheads for them. It sounds like the AT version, but I just want (any) more info on it that's available.

Now you've confused me, because BRB means "Big Red Book", the 4th Ediition ruleset.

So, is it definitely the 3rd Ed BBB (big BLACK book) we're on about? If so, what page?

Edit: Having trawled my archives and found the text in question, I am of the opinion that the "Lance" (and indeed the "Flail") Seeking Projectile is a form of Hunter-Killer Missile, or a weapon of a similar role. It's description suggests self-guiding capabilities, and HKs are all, without exception, self-guided.

The "incision" Warhead is most likely some form of armour-penetrating ballistic cap; presumably an armoured tip designed to cut through armour and/or deliver explosive payloads inside enemy vehicles. The "mass fragmentation" warhead is probably a HE device, designed to explode and cause shrapnel damage over a wide area. There may be some form of mass-reactive charge similar to that of a Bolt round, hence "mass fragmentation".

There is also a chance that the weapons referred to are some form of small-arm projectile, in the manner of the Executioner Shell used by the Adeptus Arbites, but as such munitions are all but unheard of beyond the example just given I would discount this option.

Aah, I always thought it meant "Big rule book", it explains that discussion over naming the current book the BOB...

Well, if there's no other fluff then that, I guess the mystery is at an end. Thank you anyways Wargamer. :-\
