Default Women in the Guard?

I was wondering about putting women in the guard.Since the books there are women in there and it's made up of people all over the place women would be in there at least a bit and it would add diversity to the guard and not the same guy over and over again.I could use sisters of battle heads but being a woman the cheast would be I guess lacking.Any ideas because I can't think of any ideas that seam practical or would fit in with the armor.Any ideas or is it a realy dumb idea?

???

I have an old, old female Catachan with a grenade launcher, so it's not unprecedented.

But, they don't make the models anymore...

Yes, depending on the world the guard unit is from, there are women in the guard. Unfortunately you'll have to make the greenstuff titties yourself if you want your own. :P

General Thunder I believe it was... Made a conversion kit (and cast it to sell) for Female Cadians.

The Tanith range had 1 female as well. Failing that, Escher Gangers make good looking Womanz in youz Guardz Armyz.

Or if your a good sculptor, cut away at the love handels on a IG torso and sculpt boobs.

EDIT: http://forums.tauonline.org/index.ph...c,39820.0.html

Found the topic. And it was Doctor Thunder not General Thunder, My bad.

Cause everyone knows females cant fly :P.

The wood elf torsos are good yes. But they look odd on the cadian legs.

It's not a bad idea at all.

Women are only seriously represented in 40k by the Sisters of Battle. Which appear to only exist as a weak attempt to bring women players to the game. Sure, some of the Eldar models are female. They seem to do well to integrate women in their forces.

As for the Imperials, outside of the Sisters of Battle women are rare.

I've seen 3 female models for the Guard. I own two: the female Commissar and what appears to just be a regular female Guards...."Guardsperson." There's another one in Colonel Shcaeffer's outfit. There's also a female for the Witchhunters.

But not enough to make an army out of. So you'd want the Sisters. Problem is they're metal and not suitable for converting a big army.

As for me, I made my entire Daemonhunter's retinue and Inquistor female. I used models from within and without the GW product range to do this. Required heavy conversion.

If you want women in your army its truly going to be a labor of love for a serious hobbyist.
