Default Catachans and Kroot Mercs

I'm considering working on an army of Kroot and Catachans but neither has much anti-tank stuff. Any suggestions on how to cope without my railguns?

i can feild this one for you.
a railgun is not the only heavy weapon that will inflict lots of damage on a tank.
If you a leaning towards playing in jungle terrain then theres not much point in the enemy taking tanks anyhow. if your not then thats another problem.
I do not know much about kroot weaponry or how strong it is but i beleive the kroot gun is reasonably powerful.
Catachan on the other hand have almost every impreial qweapon to choose from. Teams of 2 men can form weapon teams for everything but a lascannon. You also have sentinels at your disposel (up to 9 of them), each of these can either carry a multi-laser, missile launcher, auto cannon or a heavy flamer. for killing off tanks take your missile launcher or auto cannon.

The one weapon i use more often the not for destroying tanks are my demo charges. same sats as a krak missile they can major damage to most tansports or light tanks.

hope this helps in your plot for jungle supremacy.

Krak grenades can also help. Powerfists? Powerclaw...

Yes, but catachan take missile launchers instead of lascannon, so if you buy weapons team, make good choices.

Kroot guns are basically rapid fire autocannons, and Catachan sentinals can only take heavy flamers. I think I'm just going to be throwing in a lot of missile launchers and meltaguns.

Meltaguns are always a good choice. Most of the time they won't be in range, but they really help to keep tanks away. No transport full of enemies is going to want to come near 3-5 meltaguns.

dont sell sentinels short, hunter-killer missiles are really mean when used properly, and they have great range

Your thinking of just the catachan pattern sentinel. you can use more then one wepon on a catachan sentinel it just no longer counts as catachan pattern. although it will still contain all the rules for a DW army.

http://us.games-workshop.com/games/4...x/armylist.htm not if you're using these rules.

Weapons: Each Deathworld Sentinal is armed with a heavy flamer.
Options: A deathworldSEntinel may have any of the following: armoured crew compartment, camo netting, extra armour, hunter-killer missil, improved comms, searchlight, smoke launchers.

This sounds like my next army !!

Imperial armor, kroot mercs with ork hybrid and catachans !!

Pretty difficult to use in non-aboreal environment, though ?
