Default Lethal combination! Basilisk + Psyker squad

I just realised this nifty trick:

You need a minimum of one basilisk and a full Psykers battle squad (PBS). First you pick a high leadership (7-9) unit and use weaken resolve taking down their leadership to 3-5. Then with your basilisk use the ordnance barrage to hit the squad and cause a pinning test which combined with weaken resolve will take that squad out of play for the next turn.

I plan on incorparating this tactic into my army lists.

Something i thought i should share!

Cheers,
Unholy Harbinger

PBS + pinning attacks are nothing new, but a bassie is definitely a very reliable method of forcing a check.

Even better (requires an inquisitor/inquisitor lord as well to allow it) take a callidus assassin and use it's template weapon that works off leadership. Reduce leadership of target to 4, and it will be instant deathing them with an ap1 hit.

Wrong Psyker. The Culexus is the Psyker blasty one. The Callidus is the sword wielding one with Jump Back etc etc.

Callidus plus PBS = Winrar lol

Where does it say you can take inquisition stuff as my Codex doesn't?

It's not in the Guard book, it's in the Daemonhunters/Witchhunters ones. Allies section, just before the equipment costs page i believe.

You've missed the point. Combining the PBS's Weaken Resolve with a Callidus Assassin's Neural Shredder (which rolls to wound against Leadership rather than Toughness) means that you can kill things really easily. For example, against an Eldar Wraithlord, a PBS of only 6 Psykers will mean that a Callidus Assassin will Instant Kill the Wraithlord on a 2+.

On the other hand, you are correct in stating that a Culexus Assassin would get a lot of use out of a PBS with its Animus Speculum. Doing so, however, would make the PBS's effectiveness drop significantly as its Leadership would drop from 9 to 7.
