After a name for my regiment. Elysian 501st '...'

mounted
rapid operations force
search and resuce force
recon force
Commander is Major 'Scourge' Kane
Scheme is red and black.
main enemies are eldar, chaos and nids.


Things I've thought of
- Hell Cats
- Red Reavers
- I kinda ran out after that...

I was thinking maybe "The Red Vultures".

The Elysian 501st "The Red Vultures", gained the name after repeated successful missions against the xeno Eldar & traitor Chaos forces, captured prisoners (before their execution and extraction of vital information) would often speak of the 501st bird's as "Red Vultures" because of their red and black scheme, waiting in the sky for the right moment to strike, and when they do, it's like Vultures to a carcass, nothing is left.

I hope this gives you an idea.

I would suggest looking at names of WWII fighter planes.

For example, the Elysian 501st "Lightning" regiment. Or the Elysian 501st "Hellcats" just for starters.

EDIT: errr, yeah, I feel stupid...

How about the Elysian 501st "Mustangs" or "Thunderbolts"

I take my names from mythology and history, seeing as it's Elysian I'm guessing valkyries, if so I'd suggest pagan gods as your name.

Something like:

Odin's frenzy (odin makes the most sense)
Thor's Hammer
Loki's Revenge
Ragnarok's Beginning
Jörmungandr

How about "Crimson Einherjars"

The Einherjar were the great norse warriors that the Valkyries carried to Valhalla to fight during the Ragnarok, so it givs off the feel of elite warriors, coupled with the iconism of the Valkyries, which they ride to battle.
