Default sgt harker set up?

so what's a good general setup for harkers squad, I intend for them to be forward sentries who infiltrate onto an objective.

Well, are you going to be mobile all the time with this unit or not?
If your going to claim an objective and stay there, then a heavy weapon is in order. Perhaps a lascannon to keep tanks away.

The special weapons also depends on what else your going to do.
Sit and wait by the objective, plasmaguns are good, and even better if the enemy tries to get close.
Meltaguns for tank busting, if you intend to move more.
Flamers is allways good to include

It all runs down to how much points you want to spend on the unit really.
Demolisions isnt to shabby either to give them. Infiltrate combined with a demo charge (outflank and toss in a demo?).

Personally I like grenade launchers in harkers squad, as they can fire on the move.

There's 2 ways you can use them:

1) Outflankers; Harker is Relentless and armed with a Heavy Bolter so he pretty much can fire on the move. Armed the rest of the Veteran Squad with Special Weapons and you're set to go.

2) Firebase; One Heavy Bolter from Harker and another Heavy Bolter from the Veteran Weapons Team. That and 3 Special Weapons as well as Camo Cloaks, they can lay a good amount of firepower.

yeah, I'm liking the double heavy bolter option, maybe some sniper rifles as well or flamers, triple flamers and two heavy bolters sound like a good way to get rid of some really annoying stuff.

To use the combo of two heavy bolters and flamers you basically need to move. your enemy will not volentary stand infront of 3 flamers.
So... moving will reduce the number to 1 heavy bolter and 3 heavy flamers, which is still really good.

You can only take up to ONE Heavy Flamer per squad.

sorry meant 2 flamers and 1 heavy flamer. Which since i'm trying to keep points low (below 175), but sniper rifles also seem like a good one for what i want to do, which is infiltrate and sit on an objective. But Flamers might be a good way to discourage assaults. So what do you guys think for the special weapons

Plasma gun

sniper rifles

flamers/heavy flamer
