Friendly games; Ask permission and work out the issues and conflicted rules.

Tournaments; Hell no. Never ever.

No point in it anymore. Way back when I was the go-to-guy for the old dex.

Back then it was Awesome. Now, it's pretty pitiful anyway.

Just field an army with Marbo, Straken and Harker :P

I was wondering the samething!

I look it up and read through it, and compared to the new guard codex, it is really weak and lame, not to mention short. If you don't believe me try a 1500 point game of catachan VS new guard, you should be able to see the strength by the end of turn 2 (if not sooner)

I would suggest that you wait till they (GW) publishes a new one in White Dwarf or go play against kroot and speed freaks

It's not like you can't enjoy Catachans with the new codex.

I just really wish that gw had included a ws4, bs3 variant of the vet squad, as catachans should be better in CC than a normal guardsman.

To expend on Zenny's answer.

You must always use the most recent codex/rulebook -except friendly games if they allow it- when you play 40K.

So all of the mini-dex are out of the picture since you have more recent rules that cover them...same goes fro Chapter Approuved.
