Default Sentinels: Missile Launchers or Autocanons?

Which would be better for a medium armor/infantry killing?

I like the missile launcher for its strenght vs dreads and transports and the template is ok for infantry. But with a BS 3 you'll only get around three hits a game, while a autocannon is cheaper and will give me around six hits in a game.

As a note I don't have the points to spare for Plasma or Lascanon.

I would say auto cannon 100%.

BS3 two rolls to hit, in a squad of three = 6 strength 7 shots. (For not a lot of points)

Definitely the AC. It only has one less str than the missile launcher and twice as many shots.

I think the real question is armored or recon.

Armored equates to more points, but you have an imperial guard dreadnought (from the front/and in hand to hand) that comes in squads of up to three. Need to slow a non terminator squad down (I'm looking at you Stern Guard) charge them with the armored sentinel.

Recon with flamers or auto cannons outflanking (or scout moving) and you have a way to get at those rear echelon units.

Another option (Although it should be half the points) are HK missiles. One is worthless/ nine is a slap in the face (if coming in on your opponents side/rear armor from out flankers)

Missile Launcher, it's versatile, kills marines, punches giant holes in transports, can even take down landraiders in enough numbers. My question is why sentinels? go Heavy weapons squads, for the price of what two sentinels you get three weapons?

HK missiles are extremely expensive and not worth their points at all.

Sentinels are excellent as they are a very cheap unit that can easily tie up squads of infantry, and they're highly mobile and can get around to rear AV.

I f you mean which weapon to put on the model, how about pinning them to allow all combinations?

Use auto-cannons, they compensate well the Bs 3 of the pilot. If possible, also use armored sentinels. They are so much less vulnerable than the old AV10 one.

Pinning or using magnets for the weapons could permit you to test them out easily over a few games to make up your mind.

Saint's Sentinels are all magnetized (So is his LRBT) Although a way to magnetize the top to make it armored vs non armored would be cool.

The theme for my army is a Inquisitor Lords personal army ( D Hunters codex is to outdated IMO).,
HQ: =I= Lord with retinue and one Company Command squad with Master of the Ordinance for second HQ choice
Elite: is a Calidus Assassin
Troops: Vets will make the bulk of my troops (5 squads 3 with Las canons, 1 Hvy Bolter, and 1 Missile Launcher) backed up by a Grey Knight squad
Fast Attack: 3 Armored Sentinels ( 1 with Las Canon, 2 up in the air)
Hvy Support : Self imposed limit of one Leman Russ

So two of my Sentinels will be multi roll units
