Hellstrike Missiles.

Default Hellstrike Missiles.

Hellstrike missiles have no indication of what size template, they are simply ranked Ord. 1, Which could mean that you are subject to the movement restrictions. Every other large blast ordanance says large blast. Can someone confirm this is how it's suspose to be played or prove me wrong?

Well, the argument I get from the Vets in my LGS is; In the BOB (Page 58, under Ordnance weapons) and I quote:

Unless stated otherwise, all ordnance blast weapons use the large blast marker.
So, its a Large Blast weapon. I need to consult further with them though.

I've heard arguments that it's only listed as Ord 1 in order to get the extra pen dice on vehicles, but I would go with the BRB that it's a large template. Not entirely sure as I don't plan to use them myself, I find the missile pods much more useful.

I agree. They're a Defensive weapon and can be shot more than 2 times.

Alright that clarifies it then, i guess i'm just starting to get used to gw writing stuff properly, still poor writing that they say everything else is large blast and not that one.

The master of Ordnance's ability doesn't say large blast either. Nor the space marines vindicator.

Yup and it's marine killing ap as well, and the scout means that you can (if im interpreting this correctly) Move 24" in scout, hop out your troops on your beginning turn with no penalty because the valk hasn't moved yet, and then fire a hellstrike.

Actually, my Master of Ordnance's entry DOES say that it has a large blast.

Then again, I've got the German Codex.

The way I read it, Hellstrike missiles don't use templates. The Ordnance-rule just represents that they are very good at opening tanks, though they could have clarified that a bit.

People the official ruling is that they use the large blast, becuase as stated in the BRB UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED ALL Ordanence weapons use the large blast marker.

This is completely wrong. Please re-read page 58 of your rulebook. All ordnance blast weapons use the large template. NOT Ordnance. There is a difference, and as such the Hellstrike is only ordnance so it gets the superior armour penetrating power. The Space Marine Demolisher example is invalid. That is a typo in the book which has been corrected in the Errata section of the FAQ. You should also note that according to the SM ref sheet that the Demolisher is a barrage weapon :\. THe artillery spotter has a Barrage weapon, which does automatically cause the weapon to be a blast weapon, and thus according to the BRB it defaults to a large blast.
