Default Comissar with Honourifica Imperialis

Okay, one comissar can take the profile of an HSO for 25 points, but is it worth it? He/she gets an extra wound, good but loses one leadership.

The comissar always adds +1 to the leadership of a squad.

Does that mean he can add +1 to his own leadership when he is leading a squad? It seems a bit silly to have a special heroic comissar that is more cowardly than his bog-standard commy comrades. Also could they add to their own leadsership is an indie character?

I want the extra wound for a commy, but don't want to lose leadership due to a silly rules slip. Why make an especially brave and heroic comissar have less leadership? It seems logical they become a HSO, but still add +1 to their own leadership, indie or attached. Any thoughts?

It's not really worth it no, all you gain is those extra's, the Honorifica does not actually make the Commissar a HSO so he does not take over the squad - thus he does'nt add +1 to his own leadership. Remember the Honorifica was never really intended for such a purpose, rather for Sergeants.

Your best bet is just to wait till May for the Commissar Lord in the new Codex.

Commissars are already awesome, why waste an HI on it? Slap it on a veteran sergeant or a Kasrkin sergeant.

ditto

As Col. Gravis said, honorifica imperialis wasn't really meant for commisaires, they're already hearoic and bad *** enough.

techpriest enginseers have always been my choice. Iv'e done it more than once, combining the techpriest with honorifica imperialis, and iv'e always gotten scary results.

I'd have to agree it's a waste of points. Ld 10 is going to be much more useful than the extra wound considering how much S6 insta-gib there is out there...

With a medallion thing means they can ignore first instant death. It was just for fluff, not really actual game use.
