My next army is going to be an imperial Mordian Iron Guard force painted in purple and yellow (regiment nickname: The Campers). what colour do you reckon i should do the tanks, as a large purple and yellow lemon russ just would not look right, however doing them in basic green would look wrong to...any thoughts?

Well the Mordian Iron Guard come from a planet with large cities right? well simply do them grey camo (i.e. cityfight camo) and perhaps do some banners on the lead tanks using the regimental icon and colours. You might also want to pick out your hardened veterans and the infiltrators in the army in the camo paint scheme with the regimental colours still being used sparingly and using the hardened veterans/infiltrators to act like a link between the normal Guardsmen and the tanks.

and where does the purple and yellow fit into that chief farseer dude? although i like the idea of the grey in contrast with the "night fever" of the guard.....

I mean, make the HV's grey camo but also add accents of purple and yellow in some places, like perhaps their helmets and lasguns or even have two bands on their arms which are the regiments colour.

so basically use a grey main colour then add the purple and yellow onto details on the models...

i was going to have a force thats.....painted in a non conformist fashion.....so plain puple with yellow trim for the soldiers, but i like th idea of having the tanks in grey.....

Isnt IG all about uniform?

It depends upon the regiment and the overall CO of the regiment. Some hold the uniform in the highest order and will not accept defiency (sp?) and some are more "loose" in that respect and may cut the troops some slack.

look in the gaurd codex it give you lots of juicy ideas on painting mordians + it would be an expensive army as mordians are metal save up lots of money
