Default Hellhounds...As amazing as they look?

Are hellhounds really as good as they look? For the points cost they seem to be absolute monsters, has anyone had success with them?

A 2 foot range and it can position the template any way it wants. You'll never get as many flamer hits with any other unit.

As a new Tyranid player, the thought of hellhounds makes me wet my bioengineered pants... :'(

I use Hellhounds in every game I play with my Imperial Guard.
The tank is cheap, got very decent armament and good armour. AND it does not take up any of my precious Heavy Support slots. It's friggin Fast Attack xD
There are far too many pros as opposed to cons, NOT to take this fantastic vehicle. I would go so far as to call it one of the best tanks of the Guard.

Hellhounds - Never leave home without them.

I'll probably be running two in my 2000 point army, along with 3 sentinels to fill up the other fast attack slot.
