Default Drop docturine

I was thinking of picking up IG but i'm not sure if I want to unless i can make a fun yet effective list using the drop doctrine.

How would a list play out?

Depending on how you configure the list, Drop Troop Guard can be either:

a) Fun; mix of units, pull some sneaky surprises.

b) Horrible; badly-equipped squads landing all over the place and getting butchered by the enemy (my experience versus Tau ).

c) The nastiest, cheesiest, most competitive Guard army, with more Melta, Flamer, and Plasma weapons than most sane people like to count.

That's me though it's more about the insane part rather than the cheese. I'm still too newb to make it effective :P

Drop Troops can be fun. Especially when you surround small, elites armies like MEQs, TEQs, Mechanized and such. For Horde, not so hot. And don't be surprised that some of your squads will die by mishap. It happens......A LOT. But I think if you mix with Inquisition specifically those who can carry Teleport Homers e.g. Grey Knight Terminators, they can be a bit better :P I'll be trying them soon~ish after the wave of tournaments at my 40K Club.

I haven't had much experience with drop troop guard, but I do know that Deadnight wrote a great Drop Troops Tactica found here. I hope that helps.

Wow, thanks. That tactica explained everything I needed to know.
