Default Anti-ork tactics for drop guard

So yeah, my friend is thinking of starting orks, and i need to build my drop army so I can counter them, I'm thinking of getting some flyers with Multiple rocket pods (in particular a vulture with four), but what else can I do?

Flamers, heavy flamers on your sentinels....

But, in all honesty, you shouldn't tailor make lists.

I haven't played guard but I have fought them with orks to great success (don't get your flyer anywhere near my flash gits >)
Two words will sum up one of the best ways to kill orks by the bucket:
Battle Cannons
Love the ordinance it will win the day by killing nobz and boys indiscriminately, Mega armour, cybork, or cover or orks are toast, even the hardest Nobz(not mega nobz) can't take a battle cannon.
Deep striking guard against orks seems almost suicidal, so I would recommend simply gunning them down with lasguns, autocannons, and Heavy bolters, using ordinance like there's no tomorrow, and keeping your officers and ICs the hell away from orks in a Kill Point based game, nobs make bloody messes of any IG officers they can get their hands on, meaning a lot of easy KP's

And yes, drop guard seems suicidal against Orks. It just puts you closer for them to assault you. The Vultures would be fine though. Grenade launchers, missle launchers, heavy bolters and ordnance would also be something to include.

Melta guns and plasma guns seem like un-needed overkill against anything but meganobz, as do basilisks. If you are really set on drop-troops though, go with flamers and grenade launchers so you hopefully kill one chunk before they assault you.

Well.. as has been mentioned.. Drop Guard vs. Orks is just suicidal. But if your guard are drop and you want to keep them that way (respectable by the way) I think the best thing that comes to mind would be Demo Charges..

This topic was discussed to death not so very long ago. See the following thread for advice and one or two alternative ideas that pander to the Imperial Guard's strengths without violating a drop troop army's fluff:

Drop Troops against Horde Armies: How do you handle them?

It doesnt matter, unless its a campaign I am heartily against list tailoring.

As am I, I feel it takes a lot of fun out of the game and makes you want to hide your lists, even from your friends. But Mr. X is entitled to do so, especially if his friend does it .

Look, this guy is being a real git about the fact that I've never beaten him,(to tell the truth he was cheating by using battle cannons as if they were barrage) and he keeps going on and on about how my tactics don't work and how I'll never beaten him, so for just this once I feel obliged to try and whoop him until he agrees that I am a quite good player. After that I wont tailor make lists against him any more.
