Hi, I've been playing tau for a while now and I'm thinking about starting an Imperial guard army,

But I have a few questions:

1)I've heard that there's a doctrine that allows you to equip basic guardsmen with laspistols and close combat weapons, is this true?

2)If the answer to the above is yes, does anyone know where I can get all the individual arms I'd need to make such an army?

Hi,to answer your questions
1)it is possible
2)if you have any guard friends it is chance they will have lots of chainswords and laspistol also there are lots of shops like http://www.thewarstore.com/battlewagonbits.html which sells various bits

Here is a word of advice, they are going to drop doctrines in the new book that will be upcoming for guard, the rumours didnt hint towards them keeping warrior weapons so I would only make a small army first then wait till the new one comes out, if it keeps warrior weapon then continue on with your project, if it dosent sell them or count them as conscripts or something.
