as I said... they aren't independent characters, are they?

If so I can give them a powerfist and it'd be an "invisible" one, right?

I thought i'd be better to ask someone before modding them. Thanks!

No. Advisors are not Independent Characters.

Wargamer is correct, though it probably is worth noting the one exception to this is when Commissars are bought with the Independent Commissars Docturine - though that is fairly self explanatory.

You hide them with their powerfist. They are not independant. Why on earth anyone would want independant commissars doctrine (and pay more for them too) is just ludicrous to me. Oh well. Its an old codex.

Because you can use them to make unbreakable 50 man conscript platoons, AKA the most ridiculous tarpit unit ever concieved by man.

bah... conscripts. I don't hang out with minors.

good point though. attached to a ton of little grunting monkeys (sorry to be condescending I'm an Eldar) one of them makes a big wall of "you can't get through here and they won't run away or I'll shoot one". Can't shoot straight though. So you used up a doctrine and 50 points for one giant squad of incompetents to trudge around with. If that's your game plan then by all means it's a good combination but you better make sure they are where they need to be. Like I said I think like an Eldar nowadays so throwing away lives as a 'tarpit' is not an option. Conscripts are pathetic, but take a while to kill. If you like playing with lumps why not play playdoh? It's cheaper! cheers man.

No, just used it a couple of times and realized how much more valuable guys that can actually shoot straight can be. Never been victim of it. Never will.

I'm of a similar opinion, but I know many see that as a viable use so i figured I'd mention it.

Only ever faced the Conscript Tarpit once with my Harlequins. They bounced into it Turn 1 and slaughtered them. They broke, were cut down and opened the door to the rest of the army.

It was a short battle.
