Default Re-inducted (Pictures on page 2)

Hello my fellow Guardsmen,

Following a 10-minute stint on the Forge World website, I have decided to make a small 400pt Tallarn army( basically Gue'vesa though their only distinguishing difference with being no Aquilas).

I have ordered the 3 man Tallarn sniper team (lovely models), and plan to expand. I want to make it as real-life like as possible, so until further notice no Mukaali (sp?), and probably only Chimera tanks (converted to look like the Somalian vehicles in Black Hawk Down-stripped down trucks with machine guns on the back).

I am drawing a lot of inspiration from COD4, particually the OpFor and Al Asad.

Al Asad:

The army will be mostly infantry, with snipers and demo charges being common rare weapons if you know what I mean.

Good to be back,

Songblade

Err... Black Hawk Down? Those were Somaalis and very much not religious (although there are today many Islamic militias).

But I know what you mean, they're called "technicals". :-) And they do use them in Iraq.

I know, I was just trying to describe what I meant. Yeah, Black Hawk Down is in Moghadishu, but these 'technicals' are everywhere.

Who mentioned religion?

"Taliban".

You mentioned "Taliban" technicals from Somalia. (Hence my WUUUUT? post.)

Got any of the other Tallarns from GW, or is it going to be all FW snipers?

Well, I'm not a huge fan of the metal GW models, so I'm gonna try to use as much stuff as possible. I think I might convert some catachans or cadians to make them.

Arn't Catachans a bit overly-muscled?

I see your point. The GW metals look great to me though.

True, true. I've never gotten to examine Deathworld vets up close, so my thoughts are based on pictures. It could be done with either, methinks.

Yeah, but is their anything more realistic that Middle eastern fighters use, or do they actually use these things.

I made a test model yesterday: an empire fanatic/flagellant with a turban, bullet-proof vest, extended hair and with a head held in one hand.

I think I will use the standard IG (IA too expensive for me) codex, what doctrines should I have?
