Could someone tell me if advisors attached to a mounted unit recieve a mount as well. I seem to remember readins that they do but cannot find a ref. If you can find it can you post a page number book and ref.

Thank you

No, they don't. And you can't attach them anyways but if you can, your rough riders will have to slow down for the Advisor to catch up (Move 6 inches)

You move according to the slowest member of the group. For that reason I don't attach slow-moving troops to my usually faster-moving characters.

I don't like Commissars, and I don't like Rough Riders either. But I can't deny the sheer cool factor of a mounted Commissar leading the charge, sabre in hand, pointed threateningly at the enemy. Here's hoping the next Codex: Imperial Guard makes them a reality.

I suppose you could do it with the current rules by way of the Independent Commissars doctrine, but it'd just be wierd if a cavalry unit moved like an infantry unit. As cool a conversion that may be, I think the impact it'd have on unit effectiveness would obliterate the benefit of having a Commissar attached.

Since when IGs ride on bikes? Officially and legally I mean. Unless he's talking about SM.

Bikes are a common way that some people represent Rough Riders. They are a "counts as" type of unit. I've even seen some where they had little dune buggies for Rough Riders...

It's been tried before, but Space Marine bikes just look too chunky for Cadians.
