Default Is this possible

Is this acceptable:

Could I use the Guard codex to make a traitor army and just stick to the guard codex?

Yes... fluffwise it works loads of guard armies have traitored... using commisars may be stretching it a bit though!

if you were to get a copy of the mutant rules it would add a touch too your army and give it a reason for 'traitoring'

as chilledenuff said taking a commisar would be not such a good idea fluff wise (and the face that they are all "good and hounerable")
