Default Techpriest rank structure

I'm trying to write a book at the moment about the battle for hydro processing plant 23-30 from the Taros campaign and one of the characters I'd like to address briefly is the Elysian 23rd's chief techpriest.

Presumably, all Tech priests fall under the purview of the Adeptus Mechanicus and are attached to Imperial Guard regiments on either a temporary or permanent basis. But what sort of title would such a character hold? 'Artificer Prime'? 'Chief Artisan'? Something like that?

If it's any help, here's the ranks listed for the Explorator Fleets in BFG... you can probably vary a bit to suit the normal Techpriests.

Explorator Techpriest.
Magos Errant.
Magos Explorator.
Aspiring Archmagos.
Archmagos Explorator.
Archmagos Veneratus.

Wikipedia has some stuff about organization.
If I recall correctly, the Techpriests that are assigned to IG are pretty low in the rank system. It's not a desirable position at all. Not cure if the one you're talking about falls under the same catagory as other enginseers though...

The thing about doing the obvious is that nobody bothers, because it's obvious. :P

Karma'd for doing the obvious, and Wiki-ing it. Very useful link indeed.

What a backhanded complement. Can't you just say 'Great link, Van Houten. Have a cookie.'? :

haha...
It's cool. Besides, I don't like to eat cookies very often as they tend to hurt my teeth.

Just trying to help. I read through just about all the 40k articles on wiki a couple weeks ago and the Enginseer's description stuck with me. It's slightly entertaining to me that they're considered just so low in the rank scheme.
