My "friend" has started raving about how imperial guardsmen with lasguns are 0 points personally i think thatis a load of Bo*lo**S Is that true? If so It is rather stupid as in this 800pts battle force attack were assembling would limit hin to as many guardsmen as possible. ??? ???

+++It`s kind of true, you pay for a whole platoon which is 60pts and that comes with two to four squads of ten guardsmen all equiped with lasguns and a command squad thrown into the bargain too. You then buy extras and so on. So you can`t get free guardsmen really, there just incredibly cheap. I don`t really understand the second sentance so I can`t answer the question (if there is any) there.+++

Damn it, I was sniped!

A lot of this comes from older versions of the rules. In the BBB for example, the Guard Officer entry actually does list the Guardsmen as "free".

Close - it's not XXpoints for the whole plattoon - just for the individual sqauds.

Wow...just imagine that. 60 points for 45 Guardsmen...there wouldn't be enough space on the table for all those men!

A Guardsman is 6 points. Tell your friend to do the math. :

Or look at the remnants rule. It says there exactly their price per Guardsmen without upgrades. And the Command staff entry says the cost for them is included so officers are really X - 24.

the free guardsmen in the command squads/platoons have their points included in the cost of the officer why do think they cost that much.

Sorry that was rather badly explained of me my friend plays imperial guards mattty j so he wants to have a battle withe me and my other friend matty q (eldar). And it would be 400pts of my army 400pts of maty q's army vs 800pts of matty js' army ( I dont want him having hundreds of guardsmen vs us
