Well I'm really overworked at the moment with data collection for my Geo Report and fluff writing for the GI campaign. So instead of me doing the research. Can you people tell me what kind of weapons are used in BFG to repel boards and fight them off?

My big questions are;
-Which Weapons? (Elctro-gafs?, Shotguns?)
-How do BFG ships deal with a boarding action?
-How do BFG ships deal with a Tyranid boarding action?
-Are Navy Marines more or less the same as IG?
-Do all BFG ships have a Commissar AND Would a Melta/Melta style weapon cut through bulkhead doors like the Jedi do in Star Wars with their light sabres?

Usually shotguns, or other similar low-velocity weapons.

Kill the boarders. A lot of the times, it's the ship's armed personell who defend, but they sometimes also give normal crewmen weapons.

Pretty much the same as above. Kill 'em all.

I wouldn't think so. I beleive that IG have more training, and they definitely have more combat experience.

I don't think that all BFG ships have Commissars, but I'm sure that the fleet would definitely have at least one. Melta weapons are designed to kill tanks, so I don't think that bulkheads would be a problem.

Legio is pretty well bang on. Shotguns, slug pistols and weak autoweapons.

Usually the ratings (normal crew) are expected to fight if the battle sweeps to where they're stationed.

Tyranid boarding actions usually involve flamers, too.

lots of shotguns their are some electrogafts
but a good portion of the time they just raid the armoury

Question: I can understand shotguns to a degree, but why autopistols and such? why not lasguns?

Too much power. You don't want to blow out windows, power junctions, and hot-gas pipes when you've got no space suit.

As far as I remember, it's carapace and shotguns.

Its in Eisenhorn actually I think. From what I remember the naval troopers had carapace and shotguns or autos. Eisenhorn had a healthy respect for their fighting skills, but the novels tend to make human troopers appear a bit moe glorious than they actually perform in game, so I don't know how they'd really compare to guardsmen.

Maybe, but it was also in there, but it was also in Sabbat Martyr of the Gaunt's Ghosts series.

And in the Last Chancers books they mention that kind of stuff
and laser weapons you would think would use more oxygen than an auto weapon (thats not fact it's just assumption).
and maybe autoguns kill daemons from the warp better than lasers
