Default Using warhammer models for artillary

I was browsing around the GW site and looked at the Dwarf organ gun, it conveniently has four barrels on it. Making it a possibility for a cheaper Thud-gun. I think it would be perfect for vostroyans and would still work pretty well with othr guard regiments if you shave off the dwarf sybols. what do you think.

I believe that the Dwarven Organ gun is far too small to represent a Thudd Gun. First off the Forge World Thudd Gun is what, 2x,3x,4x bigger than the Organ gun. I think the Organ Gun would look fitting as a Vostroyan Missile Launcher, but otherwise if you want to field a Thudd Gun you would be better off either purchasing the Forge World one, or handcrafting your own.

On the other hand, you could argue that the Thud Gun made by FW is too large. It only has a a minor upgrade from a Mortar, and for that the Dwarven gun is perfect. Not sure how you'd justify it being immobile, though.

I dunno, it doesn't look "Mortar-y" enough. Too much direct-fire-ish.

I agree, the thud gun isnt realy four mortars staked on top of each other, its more like four light cannons strapped together.

Thudd Guns are supposed to be immobile platforms without a Centaur to pull them, and the idea of two Guardsmen not being able to move that cannon in it's current form is a bit unlikely.

Ahh, i understand. That true, but its also almost half as expencive. So shure it isnt quite as awsome and realisticaly sized as the forge world ones. But you can feild twice as many of them.

It shouldn't be a difficult conversion to get it to fire upward and still look decent. Lil cutting, a few bitz and the proper sized base and she's ready to rain some hot steel death if you ask me.

I say congratulations, you have done a service to the art of Poorhammer!

Are you kidding?! He convinced me just with the idea to start a Vostroyan army for the sole sake of using crazy Dwarven conversions :sadnshocked:!

Wow, Fantasy>Forgeworld?

The platform does look cool; I say go for it.
