Default Malcador heavy tank

Ain't this just the most hideous freak-show vehicle you've ever laid eyes on (with the possible exception of a Nurgle vehicle)?

I saw it in the background in IA volume 5 the other day and I was going to ask if anyone could identify it...but now I know. What a monstrosity! I think this is probably the first Imperial vehicle produced by FW that I can honestly say I don't want!

Rules for this ugly bitch.

I think they need to look at their own tank again, apparently three gunners (one of whom doubles as the commander!) are supposed to preside over five Heavy Bolters.

I have to agree with you guys on this one. All of the other IA5 associated vehicles have been designed with a good balance of sci-fi and WW1 nostalgia, but I feel that the design for the Malcador is just a little too much 'old world,' and doesn't seem to fit in with the likes of the Gorgon, Macharius and Krieg variant russes.

Although I hate to say this, considering this is a Forge World product, the Malcador is just too repulsive and looks unfit to serve on the battlefields of the 41st millennium. Sorry Forge World, but I rate the Malcador a 4.0/10.

Keep in mind that this ugly brute predates the Leman Russ itself. It is ancient.

+++Is it just for the renegades or can it be used for loyalists? If it is for guard I am definately going to get one! It reminds me of that French 'hedgehog' tank.+++

The renegades of which you speak have only got Imperial equipment (often modified in some way) because they have no direct contact with the Daemonic. It's an Imperial tank but Vraks is an armoury world so the Renegades have plenty of them. The model comes with both Imperial and renegade commanders, this one's just been painted up as a renegade tank with some chains added for effect.

Personally I love the look of the tank, because its simply not like a normal tank. To me that tank shouts; "Rumble forward, fire all guns!" Once you add a turret the whole thing becomes WW2 like and because of that I would like to stay back in WW1 terms.
