Default Armoured Company or Mechanised?

I love both types of them I was thinking of the skitarii (Warriors or Mars) or the Charonian 18th Armoured.

I have a few problems though, In mechanised do you abide by the platoon rules or are all your troops armoured fist squads?

You abide by Platoon rules, it's just they all have to have a Chimera.

Both armies play very differently. I myself am an AC fan, but they are harder to use than people think...

I assume you refer to Armoured Companies there.

Armoured Companies are Tank-armies, and Infantry are far more maneuverable than tanks, thus AF are Fast Attack.

Well if you want the ultimate Ork-killer, you'll need to invest in Imperial Armour, and grab a hold of these two glorious tanks:

The Leman Russ Exterminator.

The Griffon Mortar.

Orks go bye-bye very fast, and both are dirt-cheap for what they do...

I have thought of doing an Armoured Company, however I am confused on how they are fielded.

Is it feasible to have an all- vanilla Leman Russ army, with a few demolishers and hellhounds/chimera's thrown in?

You can indeed have an all-Russ army with the Armoured Batallion. It is also possible, interestingly, to field an Armoured Batallion with no Russes in at all...

I checked into it more throughly, and, using the traits system, you can limit yourself to only three units: Lemans, Demolishers, and Stormtroopers. You could also double the cost of each tank with traits, which I don't see the point of doing in any game under 5000 points.

But I think Armoured Company is a dead-end army. You get some tanks, a few other units...And you're pretty much done. Not so with regular IG.

I don't know, maybe I should do Armoured Company.

BTW- wouldn't armoured battalion be freaking HUGE!? Because, don't four companies go into a regiment, then a certain number of regiments into a battalion? Emperor's waffles, that's alot of tanx.

well, I'm thinking of using the seige army doctrine so I take griffons and basses as troops and lemans as heavy
