Default What do you think?

OK this is my guard army the pavonian 707th aka the lucky sevens. The planet of pavonis is a step underneath forge world as it produces massive amounts of tanks shells and other armoured components but still has a recognisable eco system.
The 707th is lead by general millitant Antauis Diane. He was drafted early on when his mining componay was anmushed while escorting guardsmen through the mountains. He singly handedly killed three necrons with only a pickaxe. That is when they drafted him. During his early carear when he was a Junior officer he was ambushed(yet again) by a necron lord and his pharah bodyguard. even after losing his entire lower body to a warscythe during the fight he killed them all. That is when he earned his medallion crimson and his bionics. When he was promoted he was assianged a personal psyker to allow him to think clearly even with the necrons horror. This psyker is known only as Deep Thought for he will think over everthing if he has time. Deep Thought has banished may necrons to the warp over the years and is nearly impossible to stop when he makes up his mind. General millitant Antauis Diane is armed with a powerfist crafted from the gauntlet of veteran Sergeant passnuis of the ultramarines. He had his hand severed by the nightbringer himself. This fist is a symbol of fighting through impossible odds and mind blowing pain and coming out triumphant. Just the sight of this mighty weapon will keep guardsmen in the fight. anyway please post any comments and critics thank you in advance ;D

Interesting. You know that that little plot there would make a rather interesting narrative piece if you decided to write it up. Particularly as you state a number of important figures in your fluff and hence is deserving of much more description and detail, rather than the simple stating of facts.

I must congratulate your JO for his actions, even my Lord Millitant General Erwin Smouse has hardly undergone such hardship (However my Commissar Luttin is much the worse for wear). Yeah my leaders once used to fight the fight, but now they enjoy a life at the back of the lines. What else happens in a Conscript Batallion?

Any fluff on the army itself?

Neat bit of fluff...I suppose that powerfist counts as a trademark item, right? I can't wait to see the miniature you do for this guy. My Lord-General Surovi seems like a complete wimp compared to this guy . Just one thing - you might want to change the army name, seeing as the Cadian 7th already go by the name of the "Lucky sevens". By the way, I reckon that you should give this guy the pickaxe from the tank accessory sprue to represent the one he brained those necrons with, perhaps strapped across his back or something? Or alternatively you could ignore the above and murder me with a rake.

And what's the colour scheme for these guys?

+++My fluff for the 12th Panzegerwafferns;
S.G.T. Franz reached for his canteen, unscrewed the top and shlooshed some water around his mouth to get rid of the taste of vomit.
''Thirty seconds to landing!,''yelled a sergant at the front of the gorgon. This was accompaniedby more vomiting.
''Gas masks on, helmets on!'' said luitenant Riedle. then two pirhanas flanked the ship. The twin-linked heavy stubbers opened fire. they rotated to keep up with the speed of the pirhanas barely damaging them. A pirhana turned to shoot, a heavy stubber shot a long stream of bullets at it. The ruined aircraft crashed into the side of the landing ship disabling the two heavy bolters but did no more damage.
''Open the door!,''
''Yes sir,''
''Use what cover you can, clear those trenches and that pillbox,''shouted Franz.
The door shuddered forward and then came smashing down into the water.
''Go,go,GO!''
The other shouts, commands and curses were lost in the rain of plasma fire as the whole first line of men were ripped to shreds...+++

Quick question: is your fluff, Psyker, based off your in-game exploits or simply made up?

Its from my in game experiences. the paint scheme is commando khaki and chaos black. my psyker has banished a lot into the warp. most notably a Phoenix lord. the striking scorpion one. the reason they are called the lucky sevens is that when i first faced the necrons i had a 1300 point force with no tanks against a 1500 point force with a monolith. in the second turn i deep sticked a sentential squad and three storm trooper squads. in my only turn of shooting i wiped out every necron on the Field. Thats why there the LUCKY sevens ;D

That's a little hard to do. Disembowlment is near instant death, especially if it's a clean cut through. I would suggest saying that his legs were cut off, but not his entire lower body.

Ok, cool. Then I can reply.

I like the planet. When most people write their fluff, their from either a planet that produces a million Basilisks a second (thusly explaining why they fill every heavy slot of the FoC with them) or their from some crazy, completely non-fluff world. You might want to try and work in a little Necron-ness in there since they seem to fight quite a few of those guys. Be careful though, you could easily kill your planets coolness...

Cool name for the Lord General Militant. I'm not to sure if they'd recruit possible General material from a mining company, though, even if he did show insane courage. I like the pickaxe, though. I definitely smell a possible trademark item... 8) I agree with Mage, though, that a Warscythe slicing you in half would kill you. I'd maybe just have him loose a leg or two just above the knee cap.

Deep Thought is awesome. I laughed pretty hard when I read his name. I've got some idea's for modeling him...

You might want to change the "he has banished many necrons to the warp" line to something like "he has banished many foul [xenos/daemons] to the Warp." since it sounds like one of your more famous psyker kills was actually an Eldar and not a Necron.

Modeling your two cool guys:
For the General, I think I'd base him off of a normal Guardsmen to represent his humble beginnings. Use any head you want, attack your powerfist and whatever ranged weapon he's going to have, give him a good dynamic pose, et cetera... Then, I'd add a GS cape (or maybe some cape from the GW range...) and I think you need to have his pickaxe somewhere. Either hanging on his belt or carried reverently by some fortunate Guardsmen/Priest. That'd be pretty neat looking.

For Deep Thought, I've got a funny idea. What if you modeled him after the notorious Deep Throat (of Watergate infamy, shame your dirty minds :P) There's this picture of the actual guy circa 1958 on Wikipedia and I think it would be awesome if you modeled him similar. You know: add a Fedora and old school six-shooter and the likes. That could be pretty funny.

Hope any of that helps,

-Grandpa Ducky

the nightbringers nasty, Although my guard colonel Aramon of the Sirician 33rd has killed his fair share of chaos and necron lords, unfortunately he only has a powersword which means his meagre s3 cant hurt a ctan
