Default Mobile Infantry Tourney List

I like the idea of gaurd dealing with most threats through having advanced numbers higher range and speed. This gives the gaurd element the ability to be scary as hell.

Command Platoon. 1 jr.off. stormbolter.
4x vets with stormbolters
1x psyker with stormbolter
2x special wep squads w/ 3 grendade launchers
1x mortar squad.

Elites. 2x Vet squads Sgt. w/ stormbolter 3xvets with grenade launchers
1x Vet Squad Sgt. w/ stormbolter 3xvets with melta guns

Troops. 2x Command squad jr.off w/ stormbolter
4x vets w/ stormbolters
1x psyker w/ stormbolter

4x Infantry squads Vet Sgt w/ stormbolter
1 gaurdsman w/ grenade launcher
Fast Attack. 2x 10 man Rough Riders Sgt w/ stormbolter
2x riders with meltaguns
8x riders with hunting lances.

Heavy Support. 2x Basalisks w/ indirect fire

Basically this entire list will move and fire until finding a good position to lay some covering fire.

Stormbolters are extremely effective here seeing as each squad full of them gets 12 shots even if they move.

Grendade launchers are fairly useful str 6 wep and also has that str 3 blast, Great for eldar or nids not to effective vs orks though.

Meltaguns I needed more antitank than just 2 basalisks so a few meltaguns
combined with FoF can handle most enemy tanks.

Basalisk fire is just scary And if my opponent uses deepstrike to select and destroy 1 he'll travel his happy a$$ across the width of the board to get my other basalisk in the other corner.

My vets will hold 1 side and keep me from being flanked. While my roughriders will travel up the same side under coverfire from the vets. Those 3 melta will keep anything cocky from getting to close say terminators or the equivilant.

My 3 storm squads have very nice bolterfire as well as some minor psychic ability,
very tatical and can take down most units with its sheer firepower.

4x squads of infantry men not that strong but very dependable. able to fire 3 decent shots on the move and once i burrow them in they can sustain and nice ammount of firepower.

Roughriders are my main melee stopper my best counter vs berserkers or BA that get to close. They are fast and very very strong offencively.

Additions include 2x remnant squads with sgt stormbolters and a meltagun.

Hellhound.

Another basalisk.

The list only really has 1 weakness
Orks in trucks.

Could you post the total army points and Doctrines taken, it makes it easier to provide advice.


From what I can tell at the moment, your army is going to get hammered into the dirt by enemy tanks... and anything with a decent resistance to Stormbolters.

ya i have the pts all worked out at home. I was thinking of taking the drop troop doctrine and put it ona few squads with melta's.

Yes tanks will b an issue , i kno 2 basalisks cant take out all tanks but they arent horrible for it ethier depending on the situation.

I'll probably add in a lascannon squad with my hq if pts permit.
