Default Combat Engineer Specialists?

Heya,

I just had a thought on my mind, after reading Tactica Imperialis, specifically about the 13th Mordant, what kind of units and doctrines would a Combat Engineer Specialist Regiment take?

Thanks.

Yeah I was rather inspired by that piece on the 13th Mordant, would be a fun project to tackle, oughta finish what I've started first though!

Anyway Docturines.

Well for Demo Charges Special Weapons Squads seems essential, the Combat Engineers are listed as being light in armour so I'd say Heavy Weapons Platoons would fit, likewise perhaps Veterans to represent the elite Sappers.

Beyond that, well you could argue for a number, leadership docturines, light infantry etc I think you could make a good argument for a number.

the combat engineers i'm working on have: special weapon squads, heavy weapon platoons, light infantry, veterans, and sharpshooters.

they are jungle combat engineers.

I'd take Special Weapon Squads, Heavy Weapon Platoons, Sharpshooters, Veterans, and Carapce armor... for a more storm-trooperish shock engineers.

to me that jsut sounds weird... i think that combat engineers should be lightly armoured to enable them to move through terrain quickley and to aid in carrying heavy gear ie. breaching charges, extra kit, demo charges.

More specifically.... Hmm... I would say Urban, as most of my battles are fought on CoD themed boards.

Well, I've just started my Slaaneshi LatD so I'm in no hurry to start another army. :P I'm just a little curious... honest. :funny:

Sounds good. So those Doctrines would really count as the sort of 'compulsory' Doctrines, to keep the Combat Engineer Specialists theme strong, cool. I might add Iron Discipline just for a bit of fluff, oh, and if I were to do a Combat Engineer Specialists Regiment, I wouldn't do the 13th Mordant, I would probably call mine the 11th Kastaforean instead.

Thanks.
