Default A petition...

So earlier I was thinking about different models for IG, and how I would absolutely hate to go through and convert the 50-100+ models that I want to run in the near future, and so I started thinking about a petition. How many people here would want to/care to sign a petition asking for GW to create sprues much like those that have been discussed(I.E. head sprues, legs, torsos ext.) and have each one be different? Would you think that GW would respond to a petition? Please post your ideas/comments here.

No, they won't. It's been done many times before, and never successfully.

I agree that they need to come up with a way to easily make regiments other than cadians/catachans, but I'm unsure how far a petition would go. Guess it couldn't really hurt though

I doubt the petition would work to be fair.

And i also doubt the sprues. At heart there still gonna be cadians.

I admire non-violent protesters because I know it's because of people of their mindset that we have democracy. Most of us will moan about things the government is doing that we don't like, but few will actually get off their sofa and vocalise their outrage. Hell, some people won't even bother to vote, yet still they whinge.

As much as I respect people campaigning for change, even if I don't care for their cause, I know that their efforts are ultimately doomed because the government exists the serve the nation's best interests as they see fit.

I see this as the same sort of thing - Games Workshop serve their own interests first and ours second. These two are often one and the same, but I can only assume that diversifying the Cadians into alternative regiments has been dismissed as the benefits don't suitably outweigh the cost.

You could petition them and make your wishes known, but it would come to nothing.

Depends on what you mean by 'respond.' They will thank you for the petition, but that is all they will do.

Don't tell me that you fell for the MTV lie?
The MTV lie is that people who rebel against tradition are thnking for themselves, while those who follow tradition are just sheep who do not think.
It is, of course, completely untrue. The decision to follow tradition is just as much an exercize of free will as is the decision to depart from it.

I got an insane idea when I read Tom mentioning "non-violent protesting."
I know it may sound silly, and is hardly accomplishable, but anyways...

Think about the concept of a protest march. People dressed up in homemeade uniforms representing the regiments we want in plastic. Great protest banners made in gothic (warhammer) style. Perhaps burning a great cardboard space marine. Imperial style slogans. Etc.
The mere concept would be hilarious, and both GW and us would get a lot of publicity.
;D

And further tarnish the name of wargemers for ever.

Not to mention i'd probably get locked up in a nut house.

A written petition is your only sensible option if you really wanted to give it a crack (note not online) I doubt as others do that it would get any sort of response though to be honest while it's been talked about often I've never known a written petition to actually be done.
