Default Anyone got some templates lying around?

Hi, I recently got some Stormblade and Leman Russ templates from cabomhn (Thanks!!!), and realized I could build a cheap armoured battallion.

If only I had Chimera Templates.

So, here's what I need: Templates to create a Chimera, detailed or not (Mainly the hull, that's the important part) out of Plasticard or Cardostock, since I can adapt Plasticard to Cardstock. I've done numerous Google searches with no results.

Or, if that is unavalible, the exact measurements for length width and height of a Chimera model in Standard units (inches), so then I can scale up Imperial Armour diagrams.

Thanks for all your help!

I never knew there was templates for such common vehicles as a chimera.

Well it's definitely illegal isn't it...it's taking GW Intellectual Property and building it yourself rather than buying the models.

And GeekyGator, it's an Armoured Battlegroup. Battalions are infantry regiments.

as if GW ever paid Aliens for the intellectual property for Tyranids...

I don't think there is anything illegal about DIY vehicles in an actual legal sense (legal in a tournament i dont know about) unless you are trying to sell them.

Almost everyone seems to think it's ok if it's for personal use. It's not. Is it alright for me to steal your telly as long as I don't try to sell it? You can scratch-build your own models, but replicating an existing GW design is theft of intellectual property.

Go ahead and do it, no one will care, but be under no illusion - it's illegal.

Well the rule book says you can photocopy the page with the templates on it and cut out your own. So quite obviously GW doesn't mind use making our own. Now i know those are completely different kinds of templates, but i think it'd hold up in court.

That rediculous! I mean, will you listen to what you're saying? You've just given a specific example of when Games Workshop have given express permission to copy a handful of pages from the rulebook...and for some reason you think that applies to every other Games Workshop creation? If permission had to be given to copy templates for a bunker design then do you think perhaps such permission would be required to replicate vehicle designs? Why would you just assume this authorisation automatically translates to everything else?

Tom, tell that to the scfma MSN group - they've never had any trouble with IP, and they provide templates for a wide variety of models, not just 40k ones... and to the best of my knowledge there's never been an IP issue.
