Default Doctrines, yay or nay?

What are your opinions on Doctrines? Are they

the best thing sinse the battlecannon, or more useless than a Conscript's

Leadership?

My view: Doctrines = bad. Too many people use them to create

armies that are, in truth, even less original than the standard list!

It depends whether

your opponent abuses the system or not. Like the post above when the guy was saying they

all had carapace armour. Good example of it being abused, at bit like non Iyendan armies

taking three Wraithlords! I presonally think they are good, but could be clearer in the

codex.

good in theory but in practice they are open to

abuse and people forget that since they have five other doctorines they, CANT TAKE OGRYNS

NOW!!! and also YOU SHOULD AT LEAST PAINT THE ONES WITH CARAPACE ARMOUR A DIFFERENT

COLOUR TO MARK 'EM OUT OR PUT KNEE PADS ON THEM! > > >

Or scrap all the

regular Imperial Guard with Adeptus Arbites replacing all their weapons with lasguns (

very expensive), but thats what I'm doing with my planned Imperial Guard army (well

not the entire army but Officers and my lead Command Section anyways).

Carapace is a waste of points. Every single

player who has gone up against me while using the carapace doctrine has done nothing but

give me more Victory Points...

I'd like to believe you, but my gun-wall has spelt death to tougher foes
