Default Gue'La Auxiliaries army doctrines question

I was looking at the GW website when I spotted an article on Imperial Guard Doctrines. I read though it and found that there is a list of doctrines regarding the Gue'la. Would you use them? If so, why? And if not, why and what would you use to represent a bunch of Tau Human Auxiliaries?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about the doctrines but as far as making the models most people mix tau and cadian parts.

I don't see the close order drill as being to the Tau's liking

I agree - those doctrines are a bit iffy. I'm in the middle of collecting a sort-of Gue'vesa army. Basically it's a PDF unit that has converted to the Greater Good, and is now helping the Tau liberate the planet. As they are only PDF, civilian veterans of the Imperial Guard and other locals they have no doctrines, no Commissars, no Psykers, no abhumans (although I plan on converting some Necro Juves with sniper rifles to be child soldiers - they'll count as Ratlings), no plasma weaponry, very few lascannons, no vehicles except one Chimera and no Storm Troopers/Grenadiers. Yes, this probably does put me at a slight (:P) disadvantage, but frankly I don't care. These guys aren't meant to be particularly competitive, just a fun and fluffy force to fight alongside my Tau. I might make a few concessions, like getting a single Leman Russ, Demolisher or Griffon at some stage, or using the Light Infantry doctrine for some battles, especially cityfight. These guys are fighting on their own turf after all - they know the place like the back of their hand.

One thing that should go without saying, though - remove all Imperial insignia from the models.

Close order drill could represent their original IG training rather than something the tau decied to teach them.I could see it being useful if you run them as a detachment alongside regular tau.

I;d drop the xenos fighters since nobody plays orcs and its a wasted slot.

I might give them grenadiers or veterans or something, make them a bit more elite to represent advanced tau training and equipment.

Or maybe mech inf, since the tau heavily favor mechanized tactics

Nobody plays orks??

Oh, dear.

Anyway: Doctrines i'd choose:

Conscripts, - civies that joined the greater good
carapace, - tau armour
grenadiers, - I don't know why, i just like grenadiers.
OR - veterans: To represent the first group in the regiment that broke off

Die hards - for the greater good!!

And one other of yer choice

Maybe once orcs get their new dex. I know they;re not very popular out here just now.

As for modeling, how do the cadian pants look with the tau armor though? I like the arms, but I don't like that they have their coat sticking out under their belt...I like Catachan legs, but mkxing parts from three different boxes gets expensive and can end up looking disproportionate and silly

I find myself wanting to field a small detachment of converted guardies

Edit: Anyone ever consider taking Last Chancers as a counts as gue'la detachment? They've got lot of options and flavor and can me fine-tuned to accent the main force. Could represent a patchwork regiment of deserters
