Default DKoK & Heavy Stubber Teams

Looking over the new Death Korps models, I found something interesting; a Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber team.

My question:
1) How much would you pay for a TLHS team in a regular Guard army, both for fire teams and Infantry/Command/Armoured Fist/Conscript squads?

2) Were the option in existance, would you make use of it?

Pay for it? I probably wouldn't. I don't like it at all.

Well, lets see.

A Heavy Bolter team is +15 points and a autocannon is +12. Since its twin linked and 3 shot, I'd say maybe 25 points?

I might make use of it. Depends on what list I'm running. Probably would take instead of heavy bolters.

I'd price it at the same value as a heavy bolter.

If you run the numbers for it, compared to a heavy bolter, you'll find that it's slightly more effective against MEQs, slightly less effective against GEQs, and considerably less effective against heavier stuff (light vehicles, etc).

Would probably be a great alternative for heavy bolters in cities of death. The strength gives it decent stopping power, and AP isnt a big consideration with all of the cover saves around. Plus the twin-linked allows you to avoid the low BS of guardsmen...so I would say yes, if it was cheap enough.

yeah, i'd use it, but it definitely needs to cost more than the heavy bolter.

Care to justify that? For comparison, here are some relative performance figures for a twin-linked heavy stubber relative to a heavy bolter against different targets:

MEQs: 113%
Orks: 113%
GEQs: 80%
GEQs in cover: 120%
T6 monsters: 75%
AV10 vehicles: 75%
AV10 aircraft: 92%
AV11+ vehicles: 0%

(Pewpewlazorz made a good point about it being more effective against guardsmen in cover.)

On the basis of these figures, I'd say that the firepower of a twin-linked heavy stubber is very close indeed to that of a heavy bolter. The largest price increase you could really justify is 20% (eg, from 10 points to 12 points), and that's only if it was always firing against its ideal target (ie, guardsmen in cover). If it's firing at a range of targets, the same price seems appropriate.

a single stubber as a special would be well cool and i would include on in everyone of my squads, as they would definetly get the look i want my troops to have then

The Lost and the Damned Traitors has the ability to field a heavy-stubber with
a team for 10 points, as a special weapon.
And the idea of using it in a guard infantry unit is great.
But I must say that I think the twin-linked ability is right out.
