Default IG kill team! help!

help me choose! suggestions welcome!

Option 1

Hardened Vets: 160

Doctrines: Carapace, cyber-enhance, hardened fighters, die-hards

vet sarge - with bolt pistol/ccw + krak 'nade

4 vets - autocannon, plasma gun, grenade launcher, flamer

1 vet - lasgun

Option 2

Techpriest Enginseers: 160

Techpriest w/ combat servitor

Techpriest w/ Plasma cannon servitor

Option 3

Hardened Vets: 159

Doctrines: light infantry, cyber-enhance

vet sarge w/ stormbolter, power weapon, bionics

3 vets w/ grenade launchers

2 vets w/laspistol + ccw

3 vets w/ shotguns

1 vet w/ sniper rifle

wanted to run schaeffer's last chancers, but theyre kinda illegal for kill team .... ironically

oh the guy runnign the game might allow splitting squads...

I'd recommend you to go with your third choice.
There you have good mobility, all assault weapons (exept the sniper rifle. It has to go).
Perfect for kill-team action. But seriously, the sniper rifle=no dice.
You have focused the team on mobility, but this would be negated by the sniper rifle. Give the guy a shotgun or chainsword/laspistol instead.
Your sarge looks good. Some "I can handle whatever you can dish out" mentality.
Personally, I love grenade launchers in Kill-Team. An assault weapon with an effective range of "30" is too good to give away. It also has the strenght and AP to kill about anything.
I also find the remaining veterans appealing. Half and half of shotguns and melee give the versatility you need.

Any idea what you might be facing in battle?

thats true... the image of the kill team packing a sniper rifle was powerful... and the guy running the kill team campain apparently lets me split the squad.. like the guy with the sniper stays back, while the rest move up.

well i know theres chaos and eldar so far. a bunch of other guys that im not sure of but likely marines and whatnot, possibly sisters of battle or orks...

400 pts to make as many kill teams as wanted.

just remembered.. those darn marines!

Heavy Death Team

Hardened Vets: 157

EDIT: how about removing light infantry from option 3 and taking hardened fighters instead?

It looks good. But remember that giving your sarge a power weapon is breaking a immutable law. Which gives your opponent two free brute squads and more points to spend on the Boss.

It's not an immutable law...a Veteran Sergeant of Hardened Veterans can take a power weapon or, indeed, any 'Officer Only' items.

Well, sure he can take officer only items.
But when the codex makes it clear that only : officers, priests, rough rider sarges and stormtrooper sarges can take a power weapon. Then why does it not mention hardened veteran sarges as well?

Ok, I checked it out. The veteran rule really do give the ability to have power weapons. Thanks for clearing it up Bash.
