New Imp player needs help

Default New Imp player needs help

Hello, i was thinking of starting a mechanised regiment with some mechanicum style to it so i was wondering what do you have in mind about what to have in sutch an army. Like what i should have in the squads of the army, should i take tanks or just stick to all infantry. its is going be a 1750p army.

i find that the best heavy weapons in a mechanized army are missile launchers. You already have a multi-laser and heavy bolter for every squad mowing down the infantry, meaning you need AT. and lascannons are very expensive, and you're already paying a premium to mount every squad in a chimera, so the missile launcher is an alternative that allows you very good AT power while but being overly expensive.

as to special weapons: it all depends on what you are going to do with the squad. if the squad is going to move around alot but not necessarily come near the enemy then Glaunchers are great. If your going to be moving towards the enemy meltas give the squads an AT edge most mobile units can't achieve. If you plan to assault enemy then flamers are your best friend. if you want yur ifnantry to stand back while your chimeras drive forward plasma guns are a great option, and since you want a mechanicus theme then your army will probably have good access to plasma weapons.

as to takeing tanks or not: well mechanized formations usually have less infantry than other due to the fact that they have to spend points on transports, so you might want to focus on getting more squads out there. Also, and ample supply of chimeras will mean you will have tanks all over the map, so you might not need a mobile element. I personally would focus on getting as many squads out there as possible, but that's just me. Taking a few russes wouldn't hurt.

Is this a good mech Mechanicum list?
i was thinking of using steel legion models for the infantry and vostoryan for the hq
i think it will be cool to take the panels with servo skulls from the cities of death box to but on the chimeras
please rate this list, what should i improve or remove

the list looks good, although i would suggest replacing the heavy bolter servitor with a technical servitor. you already have the chimera providing cover, you're better off trying to get as many technicals out there to make sure your engineseer fixes those chimeras quickly. im not a big fan of cyber enhancements since they're very expensive and only add a mild layer of protection. but it's very fluff and means you can claim invulnerables from almost every model in your army. you got green light from me ;D.
